Default Oh my god Friedman SHUT UP!!!

It’s not like we aren’t constantly inundated with McDavid talk regardless of what hockey game we are watching yin the evening but now I turn on the Fan960, Calgary sports radio this morning and hear Elliott fawning all over McDavid for twenty minutes. Sportsnet radio and television really do not know their audiences.

People keep forgetting that Rogers is the machine behind everything. McDavid prints massive money everyone just needs to get used to it.

I hate the Oilers but you have to give him his dues. He's single handedly dismantled the Flames on a few occasions this season and is scoring at a 1.76 ppg clip. You look at Mitch Marner and think to yourself he's having a hell of a season with 39 points in 30 games and then you realize McDavid has 19 more points than him. I just look to the positives as there's only 5 more years left before he's out of the division and he hopefully goes to an american market.

his point per game average is in pretty rare territory tight now.

one interesting thing. Take away Lemieux & Gretzky, and the highest seasonal ppg of all time is Bill Cowley.

not many people would have guessed that.
I had to go google the guy as I didn't know who he was.
among other things, he founded the Ottawa 67's.

He's the best player to ever play the game in my opinion.

He'd get around 300 points a year if he played in the 80s

If you are upset at the content of the radio show in Calgary...you should direct your anger at the guys hosting. They drive the bus, Friedman is just a passenger. When these guys do their hits on the various stations across the country, it is usually preceded by email/text with the guest and the producer mentioning a list of thigs they can/want/will talk about. If the host doesn't want to talk about i, then they take it off the list.

So in this case talk to Jason Deforest and mention you dont want to hear about McDavid on Calgary radio. I dont like your chances of getting things changed since 97 is the face of the NHL in Canada, but its really the only way to even make them aware there may be some McDavid overload going on.

If it annoys you, just turn it off. Seems pretty simple to me rather then getting angry about it.

Everyone hold hands and chant together; "Five more years", "Five more years", "Five more years". It's unbearable but it won't last forever. We may even come to like him when he's playing on an American team.

I honestly don't recall the national media fawning over him like this.

I hate the oilers a lot. I hate McDavid cause he is an oiler. I also dislike his smarmy face.

But he is completely dominating this year so it is what it is. Gotta just suck it up and hope some how we get Bedard in a couple years

Yeah he's having a pretty legendary season.

I hate that he's an Oiler but the guy deserves the hype this year.

There's no doubt his stats are padded a little by playing the Flames and Senators in a good percentage of his games but he was in on every goal last night in the win against the Jets. The Leafs seem to be the only team that have defended him really well.

Yeah, if I know he's going to get brought up in something I don't bother even listening/watching. If he ends up randomly getting mentioned and the gushing starts I turn it off.

Because we liked it. When he was the best player in the league, he was under the spotlight a lot.

Oiler fans have been complaining this month about how much the media is talking about Darryl.

To be honest I’d rather listen to them talking about Mcpoopy then have them devaluing all our best assets like CP does.

Please radio guys stay away from that!

Meh, if it annoys people so much turn it off. If the media was gushing over Gaudreau, we'd all be sitting back and enjoying while at the same time Oiler fans would complain about it. As much as the Oilers are a rival and McD is part of that, I don't care if he gets a lot of attention. Leagues should be marketing their stars and the NHL overall has done a piss poor job of that. NBA has no issue doing it, so if the NHL wans to latch onto a rival team's superstar to garner attention, all the power to them.

And as much as it pains me to say because E=NG and blablabla, he IS without a doubt the league's premier star player (yes, much more so than Mackinnon) and is putting up a hell of a season. I can appreciate talent when l see it and the guy is talented AF and worth the hype this year.

Great season, and no disrespect to Cowley who was no doubt a great player. But I think this is malarkey- that season was a wartime season (43-44) and his ppg was much more average the other years.

Oh wait you may have meant McDavid, in which case I laugh at you.
