That's called ignorance. It's like assuming all Christians are Southern Baptists hell bent on converting everyone they meet.

I have a hard time following this...
But if you're asking if they should be forgiven, I would say, absolutely. The New Testament talks numerous times about forgiving your fellow man.
And great post Sparks. Very well said.

I am standing for something when I'm saying to Christians everywhere to shut up and mind your own sins. Stay out of other people's walks with God and worry about your own. Who are you to say that gay marriage is wrong when likely you commit sins just like gays do? Have you ever had premarital sex? Drank to excess? Swear? Use the Lord's name in vein? Idolized anyone? (You ARE on a Flames message board, and I know I watch more hockey than I go to church...) Coveted thy neighbour's wife?
Yeah, so worry about yourself and don't worry about what other people do in their bedrooms. You need to be more concerned with getting your own ass into heaven than about someone else's behind. You are judging others. Jesus told you to quit.

Yes.
And my stance has absolutely nothing to do with religious reasons.
But wait for it, heres the real burner....I think homosexuality is a sin, and a vile, foul act, yet I still agree with gay marriage.
Go figure.

While it isn't those passages, have you ever read parts of Dueteronomy? Ever worn a wool sweater?

I wasn't aware that I used nature as a reason for homosexuality as being acceptable. But the answer to your questions is society. Rape, cannibalism and polygamy have been accepted in societies of the past and present (not so much cannibalism currently). Parallelling humans and animals is not what I am trying to do.
So as our society stands right now we are against those three. We have come to this conculsion based on our morals and ethics. Our society are largely deemed that homosexuality is acceptable. But religion bases things on their own guide of morals and ethics. And I am trying to see it from their perspective.

You're right, I was ignorant, that's why I asked for clarification. Your response right there was just plain rude. I'd rather be ignorant than an *******.

Shhhhh, thats the Old Testament.
I have read it, and found it quite strange. I do think there are certain Bible verses in the New Testament that say to disregard the petty laws of the Old Testament.
Now I would have to go look for it, so don't ask.

Ah, see. Now we're both guilty of assuming things. I wasn't trying to point fingers at you in particular, however a lot of 'pro-gay' people point to nature as a reason to justify it's acceptance. I was using that same debate against them...
And society once thought hammer pants were cool... is society always right? Should I accept something because most people do? Wouldn't that make me a Leaf fan?

yeah thats understandable, at the same time we are supposed to help others deal with the situations, and like you said not judging them. jesus said to love your niegbor(sp) as yourself so we should help others and this doesnt mean to judge them and tell them they are going to hell. this doesnt happen alot but non christians or people who choose a homosexual lifestyle experience the odd few who are condemning people and not considering that we all sin and fall short of the glory of god. we all sin, but at the same time we should help eachother with our problems(but not if we dont think its a problem). for someone who doesnt agree with homosexual activities they can have an opinion on it and try to inform and tell someone what they know or believe about it but not jam it down there throats. wow that was long, i hope that made sense

No I don't contradict myself.
My agreement with gay marriage has nothing to do with religious reasons. I agree with it because it is the 'right' of Canadian citizens to marry whomever they want.
I do not have the power to take that from them.
I will never agree with it from a moral, ethical standpoint though. But you cannot disagree with gay marriage if you think the government should treat everyone fairly, and grant equal rights to all.
And yes, for the record, as long as there is no seperation between Church and State, I think marriage is a right.

how is it fair for you to ask me why christians such as myself don't like homosexuals, yet i can't ask you if you agree with it or not. And you should share the word of God with others, its not just about minding your own business. why doesn't everyone mind their own business and let murder's murder people, because it's a sin and it's wrong, you don't just let them get away and mind your own business!

No, no it didn't. I'm going to help you by suggesting you read a book on grammar and punctuation.

Quit stretching it.
There is a damn difference, you just want to ignore it.
For whatever sensible reason outside of wanting to blame Christians for something they rightly don't believe, I don't know.
