Yep, I wanted him back, he fit perfectly with the young trio in Riggs, Edwards, and Renfroe. But we couldn't have given him that money.

Do think Mayock and Gruden need to target another vet receiver on another prove it deal. I've seen AJ Green mentioned by a few places but I don't see it

This seems very stupid, but also very on brand for Gruden.

Why do the Raiders hate their O line? I swear their fans kept saying how good it was but that’s 3/5 starters from last year jettisoned for nothing right?

Lol well if ever a Carr for Wilson straight up trade made sense. Let them both die behind a garbage line, but in a different city.

Kind of wild that as it stands right now denver is the worst team in the division but also has the best O line. Nothing makes sense anymore.

Steelers getting gutted, as expected:

Bud Dupree going to the Titans - 5 years, 85m max, 35m guaranteed
Mike Hilton going to the Bengals - 4 years (no details yet)
Matt Feiler going to the Chargers - 3 years, 21m

very happy for Dupree and Hilton (bar the destination ... man, it sucks seeing him go to Cincinnati of all places!), they deserve every single dollar. Surprised about Feiler, but good for him too. Dude went from a Div II college UDFA to an NFL starter, that's pretty cool.

curious to see where Juju and Villanueva will end up. Steelers should end up with a lot of good comp picks next season, so at least there's a silver lining. Glad to see them re-sign Cam Sutton, they absolutely couldn't afford to lose both him and Hilton. Seeing Alualu leave for Jacksonville for peanuts stings though, really hoped they'd re-sign him.

Ravens, Cardinals, Chiefs, lots of teams could use an upgrade a center. Surely the Raiders could have found a trade market even if it was only for a 4th rounder.

They love Andre James who was Hudsons backup, maybe they think hes ready to take a leap

I trust gruden on the o line, hes improved it a ton since he and mayock took over. Miller and Good are a very good left side. Still need a rg and rt

What I don't mind is moving some of the cap from the Oline to defense, even tho this doesnt save cap this year. Ngakoue was a great signing, still need a safety and a CB

Ok, but even if you love your backup there is surely a market for an elite C, where you avoid $2 million in dead cap and get an asset back. Unless more comes out here it's pretty hard to say this is anything but a horrific move for the Raiders. And I mean trusting Gruden....yeesh.

What's wrong with trusting gruden?

Carr was a top 8 qb last year when people were saying when gruden got to the team carr wasnt even a starter, taken a bottom 5 offense to top 10

Defense has been the issue, mayock has made some great draft picks up front but has missed on d

The not trusting gruden is a lazy take

In terms of trade, the cap went down a lot, not sure many had space to make the trade, will wait and see, if there was a trade to be made it will come out,

Also, not the worst thing in the world in doing right by a vet and letting him go where he wants, rather than trading. Building good will amongst the league seeing who treats veterans right, is worth more than a late round pick

Gruden is a mediocre coach at best. His track record tells you that. Good for him to squeeze $100 million out of the Raiders because he won a Super Bowl with Dungy's team and was a third rate Madden on MNF. But his track record is a coach in the 15-25 range of best coaches in the league. But you are stuck with him for at least three more years even if you go 0-16 each year, so I guess you gotta believe in him because there's no other choice.

I had a little anxiety attack when I saw the Athletic notification Hudson was released. They guy allowed 3 sacks since 2015. THREE SACKS! According to PFF his pass blocking grade since 2015 is 93.6 which is 1st among centers. James has started one game in his career and it's a leap and a prayer that he will fill Hudson's shoes. Watch him go back to the Chiefs and haunt the Raiders for another 3-4 years lol. FML

And there’s the Red Rifle to the Bears. Nagy should probably resign now because he’s 100% getting fired. You can’t go into a season with Foles and Dalton at QB. Maybe they’ve got a wildcard move planned for the draft.

dream of Wilson and Watson, then go home with Dalton. Life as a Bears fan in a nutshell, I guess.

I will say Dalton started to play better down the stretch for the Cowboys when the offensive line stabilized and Elliott stopped handling the ball like a hot potato. The ceiling is low with Dalton but the floor is probably higher than it is with Foles or Trubisky.

I mean I guess if your a Bears fan the upside is Pace didn't give up four firsts, four seconds and four thirds for Russ? I think (???) Dalton has more upside than Foles or Trubisky, but we're talking about 30th best QB in the league upside compared to 40th best QB in the league upside.

Also, is Dalton automatically the best Bears QB since Sid Luckman? Goddman sorry Bears fans lol.

What was the old fotze quote before his existence was deleted from the internet? “If this makes you mad you’re not numb to the pain of what being a real fan is” or something along those lines?

Speaking of numb, Allen Robinson....can we get this man a top 30 QB to throw him the ball at some point? Obviously he won't be signing his franchise tag unless it comes with a trade.
