Think he flubbed the pass into Lindholm's skate.

Must be an ex-oiler or ex-canuck that has been trained to fall the instant anything touches your skate.

It's like the game they play in soccer practice where they keep the soccer ball moving around the circle (in the air). I like it.

Yeah eatbread definitely needs some core conditioning or something. He has a severe case of Matt Stajan-itis.

But I was really impressed with a few move he pulled off last night in the first. A couple of savvy corkscrews through three Oilers in their zone setting up a nice pass that was tipped before a shot could go off. And then the whole fall behind the the net, stick handle on his tummy and keep possession while getting back up on his feet and getting the puck back to the point. Impressive, albeit a little too comical as well. Shouldn't be dangling from your tum tum in the first place.

I have to admit, I did not watch the entrie game live so this may be incorrect to some other's recollection:

-I thought PP1 was actually quite good (in one PP in particular) where PP2 came on later and had issues.

The passing was sharp and they directed pucks at the net. They need more from Tkachuk and Lindholm (that combo on the PP has been very good in the past). I think the guy who gets the first pass on the entry has to make a good next play, in tight space, to really set up possession. They guy who does that best, imo (fast hands, protects puck) is Tkachuk.

That touch (first touch inside blueline after entry) is the key.

From what I recall, PP1 struggled to gain the zone on several occasions whereas PP2 would be able to establish zone time right away when their turn came.

I'm not sure about Giordano, but maybe Monahan and Lindholm did not take part because they are centres.

I thought PP1 was horrendous last night. Really couldn't even get into the offensive zone at all for the most part. It has regressed throughout the year IMO.

Honestly, I think it's just a combination of lack of size and a desire to compete. With how hard he works on the ice, there is no doubt he works equally hard off the ice to be in top shape.

Other small players don't fall down as much because they aren't competing as hard. I think it's as simple as that. It doesn't matter who he is up against, he's going to battle and more often than not, he is way out matched in terms of size.

I thought they have had entry troubles their last 3 games on PP1. But they are trying something new - they haven’t done a long bump back at all, so I’m patient with that. In the zone I thought PP2 was better. Tkachuk is still not making smart plays on the PP, and I think they keep trying to force a Monahan pass when he’s covered. Maybe he needs to move to find a softer spot a bit more. And they haven’t been able to make a cross-seam pass to Lindholm for his shot. I wish they’d switch sides more. I don’t need Johnnie RW all the time but they could rotate around constantly.

This might have been an optional practice. Or at least the early part was.

All they really need to do is study their PP from the first five games of the year. Because they themselves were effective - very effective- at one point so they obviously can be again.

Haven't heard anything yet about the league looking at the Khaira headshot to a vulnerable Kylington and its almost end of day out east now. I suspect nothing is going to come of this because... KyLingTon diDnT geT iNJureD derp

I actually feel it's almost the inverse. They succeeded over the first part of the season, teams scouted and adjusted, yet the flames keep going back to the exact same approach of zone entry and PP plays.

They need a few different variations of their breakout/zone entry and setup to keep PKs on their toes and honest, rather than being able to cheat, knowing what the flames are going to do in advance.
