I’ve watched my fair share of Oiler games this year and anyone that still thinks the Oilers won the Lucic trade is certifiably insane.

Not only is Lucic the vastly superior player but we got the draft pick AND with salary retention James Neal is costing the Oilers $1.25M/year more than Lucic is costing the Flames.

Absolutely outstanding. You have to be a total bonehead, a huge Oiler homer in denial, or straight up have no idea what you’re talking about to think otherwise.

He ain’t wrong. I think Lindholm produces well, but he always looks to me like he can give more. Now, that might just be because he’s pretty smooth on his skates.

Great game. Love Sutter hockey. It is a war of attrition. Playing a heavy game knocked Barrie out and it isn't a game the Oilers can play. Looking forward to Wednesday.

Sutter on Lindholm tonight - "I think Elias has another step, another gear. We need to see that out of him".

Lucic is about a $3M player based on what he brings. Neal is a league minimum two way contract at best.

This is how he gets more out of individual players.

He points out that they have unrealized potential, then that player usually comes out with a monster performance the next game.

He did the same thing with Kylington leading into this game. Says he has some high end tools but just needs to use them come game time.

He follows it up with that sweet assist.

I missed the first half of the game. What happened to Barrie?

Ritchie with his size and speed creating turnovers. Very effective player!

I hate to nitpick but aren't those 3 things exactly the same thing?

He is still very much a work in progress. His minutes are sheltered as they should be but he is starting to show he is figuring it out. Good stuff but far from "epic".
Just to respond to this: I don't really disagree, but...

I began my post with the caveat that I am one of the biggest Kylington fan boys on this forum. I (hopefully clearly) meant "epic" in the context of Kylington's career so far. I (hopefully clearly) did not mean epic in the context of the history of the Calgary Flames (like Iginla's "the shift" epic, or Lanny McDonald's game 6 goal against the Habs epic).

Just let me have this.

Somebody should put this on a billboard just off the Anthony Henday.

This guy has his head so much up his own ass it's truly beyond pathetic. If you like hockey and think you know enough about the game to write a blog, don't write things that are so idiotic. Or is it the common thing for all Oilers fans?

Quote:
...I had honestly forgotten how boring a Darryl Sutter coached team can be and lessons were re-learned here in this one...
That was a a boring game???

P.S. Not sure why the link isn't working. Just type 'oilers nation' without a space instead of hashtags.
