This.

As a member of a minority community, the Bill Peters saga was the toughest part of my flames fandom. Reading the comments from fellow fans on Facebook (and a few even here) on how that was acceptable or “not a big deal” was extremely unnerving and disturbing.

Staying quiet or ignoring doesn’t cut it IMO. It NEEDs to be called out especially when it is blatant racism.

Heck, I have seen some posters have unreasonable hatred or dislike for Kylington over the last few years (even before he truely made the team) and it does raise the question how much is racism and how much is actual dislike of his playing style.

I had heard similar points from Canadiens fans about Subban when he was in his prime.

That goal was a shining example of mental fatigue your opponent since puck drop

Johnny’s stick gets slashed in two behind the net. Shows the ref, no call.

I thought you wanted to focus on the game?

But to answer, I don't think it ever had much purpose in the game. It's the product of a bygone era where we were more ignorant of the consequences of head injuries.

It used to be legal for Scott Stevens to end careers with his headshots. Now it's not.

The Oilers suddenly seem to be getting away with a lot.

That's the matchup the Oilers want all night long. McDavid and Draisatl out against Lucic and Mangiapane is a massive advantage.
