Be nice for a Canadian to actually win one of these finals for once! Been a while.

During the AO, I discovered this awesome app called Tennis Live. It sends you notifications of the players you pick as your favourites. It's nice to look down and see Genie's name there.
I'm not a shareholder or anything I just thought other tennis fans would enjoy it. It's the best app I've been able to find over the years for tracking tournaments across all circuits and following your favourite players.

Call me weird, but I at first read that as 'Genie takes the first set 6-2 over Cecchinato'

Quite the run of excellent tennis recently by Garbine Muguruza - She lost to Naomi Osaka at the Aussie Open (had a couple of match points though) and then followed that up with an appearance in the Qatar Open final (lost to Kvitova). Today she won the title in Dubai over Barbora Krejčíková with some superb victories over Sabalenka and Swiatek along the way. Definitely somebody to watch at this year's French Open.

I think we have to go all the way back to Shapo's one and only title in Stockholm in 2019. Still waiting on Felix's first singles title at the ATP level and Vasek came close in 2020 in Sofia but lost to Jannik Sinner.

Genie just broke herself with several unforced errors. If she cleans up the errors, she can win this match, her opponent is nothing special.

Genie is going to have to remain patient because she's playing the worst kind of opponent (i.e. a pusher).

Well Fernandez crushed Stephens a month ago.

From 1-3 down in the 2nd set to 5-3 up to now trailing 6-5 needing to break serve to force a tie-breaker. What a tormenting set of tennis.

Bummer. I thought she could take advantage of that momentum swing in the second set.

Sigh. It's disappointing because Genie can play so much better. I hate it when anti-tennis prevails.

Saw someone post on another site that the ump of this match is being an absolute dick and overruling many things wrongly against Genie. Is this true, or no?

Couple of questionable calls, but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
