Really want them to make the playoffs as it would seem like a wasted year to me if they didn't. But, I also understand that they simply may not have enough time.
This is incorrect this year. I don't understand why everyone has this take. Three wins in a row changes things much more than usual. Especially if you are playing teams ahead of you.

Is it 4 March? The day that Sutter was announced as the head coach of the Calgary Flames?
Is it 5 March? The day that Sutter was publicly introduced as the head coach of the Flames?
Is it 6 March? The date of the first game played after Sutter was hired as head coach?
Is it 8 March? The day that Sutter arrived at the Saddledome?
Is it 9 March? The day of his first practice with the Flames?
Is it today? The day that he first steps back behind the Flames bench?
It's too much. Instead of Darryl Sutter Day, this should really be the final day of the week-long celebration of "Darryl Sutter Days" from 4–11 March. The first day will be known as "Darryl Sutter's Eve," followed by progressively more elaborate celebrations which culminate in "Darryl Sutter Day" on the 11th.
We don’t know yet. It’s the day he wins the Stanley Cup in Calgary.
Bennett - Ryan - Leivo actually doesn't look like a bad 4th line to me at all.
I think Ritchie being slotted where he is right now is probably the biggest issue the forward group (with the roster that exists today), but he probably deserves it the most if we're basing it on recent play.

Switch Mony and Ryan. Ryan hustles.

There is the new coach bump, and then there is playing better. It will take time for Sutter to get them playing better (smarter, faster, better defensively, etc). But we can hope for a new coach bump - hell, we absolutely NEED a new coach bump.
30 games left. You have to think it takes at least 10 games (probably more), before we are seeing them play Sutter hockey.
If we sweep these two games with the Habs, we are instantly right back in it.
If we split, we are staring at a huge hill to climb with only 28 games to go.
If we get swept, turn out the lights for this season, and start focusing on analyzing the roster.
I do also really like Ritchie on that top line. He's been a nice surprise and should provide some more space out there for Johnny and Monahan.
I like it too. I have been pleasantly surprised with Ritchie's skating. He's a bit quicker than I expected. His size is a valuable asset but a bit extra speed allows him to get in on the forecheck. I hope he can lay some big hits on that line as Johnny and Monahan typically get the other teams top pairing so getting big hits on those types of players is valuable.

I haven't liked that he has taken a bad penalty in just about every game he has played.
Other than that Ritchie is great.

No more passengers. This team is going back to being Hell to play against; Darryl has one physical/tough player spread to each forward line. Let's ####ing go.
Anyone else naively hopeful that Sutter can get more out of Monahan? I think he can.
Flames 5-2
Monahan x 2
Dube x1
Anderson x 1
Bennett x1
Go Flames Go!
Absolutely!
My memory maybe failing me, but I remember Regehr didn't play so tough until Darryl got his hands on him, nor was he as good either (though in fairness, he was still a young player that was developing).
Sutter got him to play tough, and he ended up having a 50% increase in production every single year under Darryl.
I would expect nothing less than exactly the same from Monahan. Not sure what he will finish off with this season, but next season will see him at 72 points, and then 108 points! Hope Sutter gets extended so Monahan hits 162 points!
In all seriousness, Darryl will make Monahan a much better 2-way forward. He will just make him compete harder in all 3 zones, though I am not sure how much meaner he will get.
I know you weren't really looking for a response to your post, but I couldn't resist
