Hopefully the 22 hours between start times helps tire them out.

Was just looking at GF in the North Division...Flames are dead last, with Ottawa being the closest to us (ahead by 6 goals). Such a bizarre thought that our offence is inept, and we're excited to start playing Darryl Sutter hockey, which historically hasn't really led to huge goal production.

I just ran some numbers and that seems about right. With every game being a 4 point game this year things can change rapidly but taking current records and projecting out:

Assuming the 4 current playoff teams play 0.500 the rest of the way the Flames would need 19 wins in their last 30 games. If teams play at 1.16 points/game (my calculated historical average for making playoffs) they would need 21 wins.

This year is a little different though with teams only playing each other. If the Flames are 20-10 all four of those teams won't be over .500. Somebody has to lose every game.

For sure. Mine was just a quick and dirty calculation to get a ballpark figure.
