You think? I thought he looked pretty lost tonight, particularly whenever he left his net to play the puck. I did not feel very comfortable watching the Flames play in their own zone in this game.

finally obtained legit starter, thank you Treliving

You're going to get trashed for this take, but I quietly agree.
90.7% is quite bad no matter how you frame it.
But I'm almost certain his stats will improve under Sutter. He has definitely played better than his stats suggest. A few bad games really lowered the save percentage.
Edit: Actually, I just checked. 90.7% is average this year. The lowest since 2006.

I thought he made a few gaffes but he also made saves on several breakaways to keep it 3-1. And to be fair those gaffes didn’t end up in the net (although Valimaki bailed him out big time).
I didn’t like the first goal against regardless of the tip but the other two I can’t fault him on.
Maybe not the only reason but certainly wasn’t an issue tonight.

Hiller is too old to play in the NHL now.

Agreed.
You can’t fault the guy who stopped 3+ breakaways.
If you want to blame anyone it’s thachuk and Backlund who did their best Brouwer impressions tonight

We are still paying Troy, can he lace them up again and play on our 4th line?

Tkachuk has taken a huge step back this season and I'm surprised as he signed that big contract. Sutter can't get here fast enough.

Flames lack size and IQ. The guys look lost. Maybe DS could help. But this looks more like evaluation period for next year. Look for changes and lower the expectations about the returns. Unfortunately this team has no building blocks. No C1 or D1.

Yes, but put 2015 Hiller in net for this team with this effort and his numbers get pretty ugly.

The 3rd period was definitely better. That second period was garbage. Man oh man. Let the 2nd round of Sutter begin.

I didn’t think Markstrom looked solid tonight but in general, you just to have to take goaltending off the table with these Flames when talking about their play. The goalies are holding up their end of the bargain. They’ve been good.

The only players I wouldn't want to see traded are;
- Markstrom
- Valamaki
- Andersson
- Tanev
- Mangiapane
- Dube
Debated adding Gaudreau to this list, I'd like to see him play along side an actual number one centre, only reason I didn't is the potential of losing him for nothing when his contract is up. The rest I wouldn't hesitate to move if the right deal came along.

Flames look lost because they are. Since ‘16, they’re about to welcome their 5th? HC, including a mind#### of the peters thing. they’ve had poor defence structure and a stifling system, lines in the blender and a revolving door on the starting lineup. It looks to me like they play best when they’re not in their heads. Everyone’s sticks a bit too tight, passes are off and turnovers galore.
Give it a bit of time and I think if nothing else we’ll see the baseline improve. The warts will reduce, and those that remain can be dealt with. Sure, this season may be a write off for a deep run, but it’s probably the best year for that. The focus can be on developing the team and identifying the real weak links.
I have faith we will see a significant increase in team performance by the end of the season.

Agree with what? Hiller is better than Markstrom? lol
Taking stats from a 20 game stretch with the Flames playing terrible Vs. Hiller's best season with the Flames, one of the very few seasons in the last 30 years they actually played well. Maybe check Hiller's stats when the Flames fell back to earth the next season.

Monahan. So invisible. So incredibly disengaged. Frankly speaking the guy is useless.
The Flames are an embodiment of Sean Monahan.
