I suspect Chicago is having a bit of a Flames 14-15 season and will return to earth at some point.

I think that is correct. But the fact that very bad team (minus its top two centres all year) and with no goaltender of note coming into the season) has managed to stay out of lottery territory is quite amazing.

I suspect that if you switched Kane and Keith for Johnny and Gio, Calgary would be tearing up the Canadian division. I think leadership is a big issue with the Flames (not that I'm suggesting that is a fair trade).

These guys are wired to win and have a drive to be the best.
They won't always be able to do it, but it's amazing to watch athletes who have that drive.

I dream of having players on the Flames like this again; that whether win or lose, playoffs or not, you can at least respect the effort & heart.

People may not like reading this because they have issues with Gaudreau elsewhere BUT:

He had some pretty unreal set ups that didn't get converted:
-To Lindholm in the first
-To Andersson in third (Amazing hands to toe drag and get inside)
Probably more too.

Can't believe they're having this kind of season. Even if they cool off significantly, it's gravy for them. They shouldn't be this good.
