I thought the second was okay too.
The third it kind of looked like we ran out of gas.
Also, I'm sure it was discussed ad nauseam in the GT (kind of steered away for the most part) but Markstrom would have had that second goal of it wasn't for Backlund.

It was a little thing, but I suspect things like Tkachuk floating by/allowing Bear to muscle him out of the front of the net in the final minute and thus making the Giordano point shot an easy save will be eliminated over the next couple months. Can't really call yourself a power forward if Ethan Bear can box you out that easy in the final minute.

Edmonton had to stack the top line and play them every second shift against a team who's coach is still in Quarantine. Can't complain too much. Let's see what actually happens when the head coach can run a practise.

These SN women need to get a room with McDavid already.

The effort was there, but Sutter definitely has his work cut out for him.

Got up 5 am to watch the game.

Looked fine up to Edmonton started getting momentum in the third, leading to the tying and then the winning goal.

Flames looked tired or didn’t have another gear. Lucic line tried, had some decent zone time.

Monahan and Gaudreau, especially Monahan, disappeared. Couldn’t enter the zone. Giordano is so done, such a shame.

Some bright spots and some worrying ones.

The best part of the game was Rasmus punching McDavid in the mouth. More of that please.

Now 6 points back again.

Thankfully the Oilers are still terrible and completely catchable. Sutter can't get here fast enough.

The hard work waned as the game went on.

Johnny was scared to fight for the puck tonight. I didn't know Monahan even played. Those two need to be better if we want to have success and Darryl will ensure they know it. If those two don't have a big game tomorrow then Tuesday's practice is going to be rough on them.

Say what you want...Flames best players were not good enough in the last 2 periods.

Oh for #### sakes. Why.

Lead all night to shot the bed in the third. Poor passes, terrible possession, turnovers left right and centre. For #### sakes.

I think if the Flames weren't in the spot they are we would be pretty happy with that game...even game, coin toss in the end.

Problem is now the Flames are 6 back again...basically have to win tomorrow

100% this. Don’t even care that we lose 2+ weeks. It’s a long term move and a bonafide number 1 Centre.

I'm starting to wonder if Brodie/Giordano made each other better than we realized.

Rough game from a lot of key players, Markstrom included IMO.

You could tell they brought it emotionally and effort wise but they just aren't talented enough. The level of crispness and small subtle plays that prolong puck possession and pressure just isn't there. Lots of plays in the last 2 periods where passes would be off the mark and they would turn it over, or they try and get a cycle going and either their is no support or a player couldn't handle the puck.
