Someone will make a soft play on the bench this Saturday, and then feel a tap on the shoulder and see a tablet sliding into his hands
"Its Darryl"
I expect that the Flames will come out really hard on Saturday, they don't want an Angry Darryl coming through that door.
Though no matter what . . . . its gonna be angry Darryl.
The Flames players finally ran out of room to maneuver by insisting on nice coaches that they like. They thought the polar vortex was cold and unforgiving.
Knock Knock? Who's there? Boot. Boot who? Boot in yer a$$ you slacker.

Really? I think Gaudreau is better than Forsberg or at least a significantly more dangerous offensive player.
That being said, I think the Preds will be looking for picks and prospects, since that team is not looking promising going forward.

Gaudreau might have slightly more skills and a slight edge on career points while Forsberg has a slight edit in career goals. However, the edge Forsberg has over Gaudreau is size and more grit. Forsberg can forecheck and backcheck while Gaudreau has shied away from any checking since his second or third season. I would consider Forsberg a skilled power forward - he will go into the dirty areas. For this past 2 to 3 seasons, I've never seen Gaudreau go into the end boards unless he knows he's not getting hit. Don't get me wrong, I love watching Johnny Hockey, but it's also frustrating to watch opposition players line up on their blue lines and Johnny will not dump the puck in and chase the pucks in the corners. Then, you see the team getting into turnovers because of that. I can see Sutter just getting furious if no one dumps the puck in and chases after the puck! If there's one thing Sutter will do is simplifiy the game by dump an chase, especially in the playoffs.

Really, all he will "implement" from the start is accountability. Something seriously lacking on this group.
He won't let guys cheat the way the game should be played which is a monstrous issue for many on this team.
He may be the only guy that made sense to come in at this point...good on BT and company to snag him. I would have guessed he would want nothing to do with this group but in his mind his chance at redemption outweighs anything.
The 3 year deal tells the current roster that he is not going anywhere either....so it is entirely on them. Good.

I feel that this hire is so important that I have officially re-subscribed to the Sportsnet package so I don't miss any more games. Welcome back, Darryl!

What does a typical billboard cost?
Would love to see a downtown “Welcome Darryl, from CP” billboard.
I bet we could crowd source that in minutes.

Everybody talking about Bennett being a potential Sutter favourite. If Sam floats around and completely dogs it on backchecks like he has been, he’ll find himself even further in the doghouse under Sutter. Hopefully he uses this “change of scenery” to revive his career with more passionate play because no team wants this version of him.
To be fair a lot of players on the team have been floating for awhile now. If anyone can wake up playoff Bennett it will be Sutter. A lot of times Bennett was put on a line then moved back down the line which likely hurts his confidence. We know Bennett has some playoff intangibles that other players on the team don't have. Sutter will give Bennett a job to do, simplify his game. He likely will be told not to worry about scoring but to play a strong physical 2 way game.

Lol stopped reading there. 466 points versus 375 points is not a slight edge. Games played at 481 vs 488 and goals at 176 vs 160 are slight edges to Forsberg.

You know, if I were Johnny Gaudreau, and I had to hear all these people saying I was a soft, weak bitch (paraphrasing) who couldn’t stand the heat of recent 2x cup winning coach Darryl Sutter, I might just want to take that personally.

I'm hoping that Sutter can get Bennett on the right track. We're not going to get good value in return so I believe it's important we find a place on the roster for him.
