Sutter seemed to be giving Brad some credit, the team blueprint is there, now you have to run with it. You have the strong D and goalie.
Seems like he is saying the GM has given the tools the coach needs to succeed and now the coach needs to execute i.e. Brad (and his predecessor) had built a competent roster.

I feel like one of our star guys is going to be transformed in a similar way.

I seriously don’t think he’s unhappy about hiring Sutter - I think the stuff about his character was honestly stated. As was his interest in the past.
But he’s just had to fire a guy, and he’s obviously disappointed in his players and himself (over the coaching carousel). He should be out of sorts. I don’t think he is on the hot seat any more than any other GM in a similar spot. I don’t think this was foisted on him.

Biggest takeaway for me is that I don't believe Daryl comes here if we didn't have Markstrom. Brad admitted that he has talked to Daryl about this opportunity historically and it never materialized until now. Daryl spoke several times about how you win with the goaltender, defense and center ice position. Just my two cents.

Lindholm - I don’t think so - I think he said 5 years or so, and Lindholm was drafted outside. Maybe Tkachuk, though he’s outside the window. Maybe it’s Bennett. It’s funny how Bennett has been on the team longer yet it seems like he’s the newer guy than Tkachuk. I suppose it could be Rittich but that doesn’t feel right.

Sure - I am just quibbling with the notion that this hire puts him in any more than he was before, or that it’s something he’s being forced to do. He actually sounds pretty down on Ward, though he gave some lip service to defending him a little bit.
