Mostly I agree but I think Monahan will do fine. He works a lot harder than people think. Bennett - iffy. His drive to the net is Sutter hockey. His lazy D isn’t.
Sutter will love Tanev. He will also ride Markstrom and he may not love Rittich.
Yes, Sutter will love Tanev. But Tanev will be exactly the same, I'm guessing.
86 posts in our win tonight and close to 400 in this thread. Yep lots to be excited about. Bet Sutter has already watched every game this season and knows much of what he needs to. In Sutter we TRUST 😊

When I saw this thread pop up, I was sure Ashton Kutcher had something to do with it.
If nothing else, I'm back to being interested again. Very curious to see how they respond on Saturday. If they lose to Edmonton, I can't imagine Sutter taking it well, even if he's yet to put his stamp on the team.
Also, as much as it's a different era (smart phones didn't exist and Facebook was only for US college kids back when Sutter last had the reins) it's very exciting to think of what he might be able to do with this club. The talent gap between the 2004 squad and this roster is vast, so if he can pull off the same grit and effort, sky's the limit.
If nothing else, at least we don't have to write this season off already, which I had totally done even after tonight's win.
When his career is over, Johnny is going to look back and say Darryl saved his career. Maybe before his career is over. This hiring might make Gaudreau an extra $20M on his next contract, no exaggeration.

If nothing else, I'm extremely excited to watch Flames hockey again.
It was so sad and pitiful the last few weeks and interesting hockey is much needed right now while covid limits our ability to do much else.
