The title’s character limit prevented me from stick any more names in. Actually had to be selective in my letter to the org.

I always thought Edwards was the majority/controlling owner of the Flames. I can't really find anything to substantiate this.
I think he bought 22% of the company from Hotchkiss in 2010, but I guess that didn't amount to a majority.

Without this group we have no Flames. So what exactly are all you pitchfork wielding villagers after? You want ####ing EDM to be the only team in AB?
Because despite what some of you might think, NHL hockey in CGY is not a money making venture at the level that would interest any local Billionaire.
Ownership is NOT the problem. Educate yourself on basic economics - there are free courses you can take online instead of squatting on CP.

I’m confident he’s the largest, but not majority shareholder. He is the CEO, and on the board of governors, and I understood he took a pretty active role in the league. So he is the boss among the owners. I’m not sure with him being in London and with COVID, that he’s anywhere near as active this year.

I don’t think the letter said ‘stop owning the team’

Not going to lie, Harvey has actually been atrocious the past few seasons.
Never recognizes when to get the crowd going, his drum banging is either too slow or too fast.
Whoever was Harvey pre-2015, bring that guy back.

Not going to lie, I didn't know John Bean existed. I guess that's why Jake Bean was a Hitmen.

He was drafted by the Hurricanes and has played 13 games this year.

This is not an indictment on ownership, I actually really appreciate how hands off the owners are. I’ve actudefended them from the crowd that’s calling them cheap for not hiring a top coach. I definitely prefer this over the Eugene Melnyk approach who makes a mockery of his team.
This is more about getting their attention that the three heads of the Flames organization (GM, Coach, Players) are all failing at doing their jobs this season and I’m not sure these 3 heads know how to get the train back on the rails. So the guys at the very top may need to finally step in here and intervene before this season is lost.

Got me thinking.
Besides Mario, is there any other owner, present or past who was a former player?

LOL what the #### does that have to do with anything? I'm saying it makes sense the Hitmen took him on, he was undrafted in the WHL.

Former players don’t have that kind of money. Mario’s ownership only happened because it was the only way to recoup what they owed him out of the bankruptcy.
Former players end up owning junior teams.

It suggests that he wasn’t someone who was just thrown a favour. There are a number of reasons players go undrafted out of Bantam, including the thought they want to play college hockey. The fact he immediately played as a 16 year old for the Hitmen as a regular, and played very well, suggests he wasn’t just a late bloomer.

My letter was not about firing the coach though. Everyone can look through my history, I’ve basically defended every coach because I’m not a “fire the coach” guy. I think it’s usually on the players or even the GM more so then the coach. But it’s ultimately the easy way out, you can’t fire the players unfortunately. I will say though that Darryl is elite at demanding hard work and accountability which can’t hurt this current group of players (at least in the short term). No more excuses, fans are getting their “elite coach,” so hopefully I won’t have to see another fire the coach thread for a while.
