A person who gets a DUI after going through a tough divorce is no better or worse than Bert but we don't say "hesitate to defend this person BUT they were getting wrecked in a divorce"

Do I personally hate him for it? No and empathy is needed, he is human. Bert got a DUI, there is no excuse for it. There is no "but" - simple as that.

I can’t believe how many people can misread a post, even when it’s followed up by someone adding “that isn’t what the post says”. And then it happens again

Whatever happened to Steve Moore? I recall he was suing Bertuzzi for like $60M but cant find anything about the outcome, or how Moore has moved on since the hit

I am pretty sure they settled and all the parties he was suing chipped in. Like a lot of settlements, they weren’t allowed to discuss the details publicly.

This is sadly true, but there is nothing preventing a sound decision/planning before becoming intoxicated.
