That guy... he is not our kind of guy...
Not the sort we want at the country club. That's why we have the rules about not letting in Ryan's and Jews...

Hey! You leave the Jews out of this! This isnt their fight!
They are a historically successful people! Unlike the Calgary Flames....

Right, that's why we can't have them - won't fit in. And the Ryan's - too hard-working, all gross and sweaty.

Can we start with small steps?
Like, not playing Nordstrom ever again?

Ryan strikes me as an overpaid, soft 4th liner that doesn't move the needle in any particular way. Unless you count faceoffs being worthy of his 3.125M cap hit.

So where at we at here? Have we arrived at a consensus?

Blow it all up. Build a team that works hard and plays fast every night. I don't care about losses if the team plays hard every night even if they lose.

This team should have been tanking hard in 2015 and 2016. Early in the rebuilding years and McDavid and Matthews were in reach. But nooooo, Hartley had to have these guys revved up and busting their balls, ekeing into the playoffs on the back of a bunch of improbable come backs.
"...but this hard work and winning attitude will pay dividends down the road for the young core"
Oh really? lol
The hard working, never give up, winning attitude seems to have evaporated into thin air.

The reality is that nothing short of a significant change to the core is going to get this team out of its perennial mediocrity. I would even go as far as asking Gio to hand over his captaincy (yes, I went there). There's a leadership issue here and you have to start looking squarely at the captain if you're going to change the culture in a meaningful way.
The following are options that need to be considered:
Solution 1: Get Bennett off this roster ASAP. He's completely useless and likely not helping the locker room at all with his complete disinterest, lazy play and seemingly preferential treatment for no apparent reason.
Solution 2: Make a trade to shake up the core. The season is already lost so you might as well start laying the groundwork for next year and beyond. Even if the ship is righted in 2021, we all know deep down this group isn't going to have the jam to fight it's way through any playoff adversity.
Solution 3: Ignore solution #2 and fire Ward and his staff now. I don't like the fact this gives the players yet another hall pass, but it would be the spineless, short sighted move that likely saves Treliving's job for the time being provided he replaces Ward with someone who has more pull than the current staff (Budreau, Daryll, Julien etc).

I nominate the Canucks to take Lindholm off the Flames hands.

I’d like to see all three + Tre.
Have Tre fire Ward, it’s his mess. Then bring in an interim GM and coach - maybe D Sutter could be a 2021 Al MacNeil to hold the Fort for the season (maybe more). I do feel this team is a bit like that 2001-2 Flames. Some good players but they sure are discombobulated.
Take the time to get a great GM who can then hire a great coach.
Give us fast hard working hockey in the meantime, while they get the group sorted.
There. No intentional tank necessary.
