I think it would take an awful lucky punch to beat Lucic in a fight

Deep hole?

Not where they want to be for sure, but 6 pts out of 2nd place with 34 games left isnt exactly a giant hill to climb.

Slow process but they do look like they are starting to figure it out. Need Markstrom back soon mind you, DR has done his part but he is showing why he is a decent back-up and not a starter.

Long long ways to go yet. And this club could go in either direction and it wouldnt surprise me.

Game Takes: Flames 6 Senators 3

- Flames jump on Ottawa early and cruise to win
- Six goal outburst well needed given recent issues
- Backlund has a three point game

It would surprise me if they made the playoffs. One game doesn't change the fact this team has been awful all season. I'm hoping for the best but they are going to have to play better all the time for the rest of the season which is something they haven't done. Also Markstrom is going to need to be healthy as Rittich isn't going to be able to handle the starting load.

Also tied for a playoff spot with a team they play 7 more times.

As bad as the Flames have been they are still right there despite having the hardest schedule in the division. Certainly not a lock like it should have been but I bet they make it. Hopefully Brad can find a winger soon.

Today was the Flames thirteenth game on the road in their last 17, in a space of 30 days, and they still have one more before getting a chance to go back home.

I think he said it three times which only the last one was picked up by the mic near the bench. That was sweet awesomeness.

Why did you not have game 5 circled?

It's crazy watching the goal highlights and thinking that Murray has two cup rings, including Conn Smythe consideration in one of the runs and had two shutouts to close out the finals in his second cup, and he's still young.

He didn't really have much chance on a couple of goals today, but he was also swiss cheese on a couple more.

I saw Matt Murray play twice live a couple years ago - he’s got as much talent as any goalie in the league.

He’s not Ottawa’s problem.

Awesome to see the good guys pot a bunch of goals. Desperately needed given the climate surrounding this team. Could have been 7 or 8 goals by the flames in all honesty.

Keep it up like that and I might change my mind regarding this team.
