I completely understand why they wanted it to work, and they’ve given it a good shot.
With Ryan betting closer, it makes more sense to revert to Lindholm on wing.

Also Ryan is looking close to returning to centre the 4th line, which will be a big upgrade. Until the team gets another top 6 RW, these are the best combinations. You can’t play someone who is barely a 4th line player with Monahan and Gaudreau and expect them to succeed. You may as well be playing them shorthanded with no RW, whoever is playing against that line can completely ignore the RW and just double-team Johnny.

If they want Lindholm at centre they need to change the roster with a trade so that all the pieces fit.

Lindholm is a good center and probably best long term...but they need another good winger to make it happen
otherwise stick with this for a bit

Backlund likes being a 2C better than the 3C I think.
I thought we should switch the playoff lines, but we've played our best with those groupings.
Seeing the Lucic line carry over their play to the regular season is pretty awesome.
