I haven't approached a game with such apprehension for quite some time.

What do we even hope for? More losing and inept performances so the Upper Management can't ignore that changes must be made immediately???

I’m betting COVID logistics and contract situations are going to make it pretty hard to manoeuvre through major structural changes for teams this season.

But a massive humiliating losing streak might force that hand. I think the Calgary Flames are at a crossroad and there are a lot of people outside the fanbase who are on the edge of their seats. Probably not sleeping well.

This team in my mind has enough talent to compete with any team I’ve seen in the north division. In fact I think they have beaten all of them minus Ottawa. But what they don’t have is consistent commitment, leadership and heart. Problem is that’s probably harder to switch out than talent and overall strategy.

Should be a very interesting next couple of weeks. I think all of these Ottawa games will determine when levers start getting pulled one way or another. They are still in the playoff race if they get their act together. Because Montreal is cratering as well.

There are answers. There is also a room. Can the players leave the room to find the answers? We shall see.

There are problems, Brad and Geoff watch the games. The problems therefore will not be solved by them.

Which brings us back to the players leaving the room to find the answers. Hope springs eternal that our team can return to the lofty heights of mediocrity that they have obtained often over the past 7 years.

Go Flames Go

That's why you gotta chance the coach.

It might not fix everything, but it's the only significant thing that can be done. Plus I don't think this roster is this bad. This roster should be a playoff team in this division.

Anyway, it's a rare chance for me to watch a live Flames game this season. I guess I'll have to take it.

I can’t cheer for losses, so I hope the answers to the Flames problems are to be found in the assets already in the organization. Go on a run Flames, no mercy !

I have given up hope. Would be great to see them win, would be ok if the losing continues.

Either way, not sure I'll be watching the game today.

Johnny - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Mangiapane
Lucic - Bennett - Dube

Make it so.

A coaching change is the only change feasible this season. The Flames need to be worried about non-renewal by season ticket holders for next season. A coaching upgrade might be cheaper in the longer term

This is what Friedman discussed the other day. He was asked what the financial incentive would be for the Flames to make changes to save the season and make the playoffs. His reply was that they want to fill the arena next season. Seems reasonable.
