Looked rough BUT futures are now in positive territory so we may get a reversal. Dow still down but S&P and Nasdaq now in the green.

There is some tax, but it’s a US withholding tax of 15%, and that’s on the dividend. It’s not as though you have to file US tax or anything like that and the other gains aren’t impacted. So, let’s say that the dividend is $1.00. If it’s a US stock that you hold in the TFSA, you get $0.85. If it’s Canadian you would get $1.00, all things being equal. But of course, therein lies the rub; are all things equal?

Definitely... although the CEO's interview yesterday was reassuring. Three clinics opening up in Ontario, with lots more coming down the pipeline.

I'm going to hold these stonks until the end of the year. This company has too much going for it (financials, strategic plan, etc.) and will likely recover eventually, and then some.

All the speculative stocks getting absolutely hammered, and even some of the blue chips feeling the hangover today.

Looking like a good weekend to review the portfolio methinks.

This is a definite hold, despite the markets this week. After watching that interview yesterday as well, it is clear this company is headed in the right direction. They just opened three new integrated clinics in Ontario this week, with 40 clinics on the docket across the country.

Now is even the time to grab all the stock you can.

Anyone following NGA? They are merging with a Canadian EV manufacturer. Starting to get close to my PT to open a position.

If you hold a USD stock in a CAD denominated account, your custodian (TD) will probably convert your USD dividends to CAD automatically - and you will get raped on the conversion

If possible, hold US assets in a USD denominated account to avoid this

I took a small position in this. They bought Lion, who manufacture EV buses. I think a lot of places will look to improve infrastructure by replacing their fleet and public transport vehicles, and this company is one of the few who can accommodate that.

Step energy is on a bit of a tear this week, up from 1.05 to 1.30. Good sign for the oilpatch?

From the CEO today:

https://twitter.com/user/status/1365345441655611392

I believe; this company is only getting bigger and better and with solid fundamentals. The markets this week did not change a single thing about the potential of this company itself.

Getting in below the $1 price is great value. You'll thank yourself in spades later. If I wasn't waiting on my money getting in to Questrade right now, I'd average down to that level as well!

I picked up some more this morning as well. Just a small amount, but ended up averaging down, which I’m happy about. I was happy at the average price I was already at though too.

I bought 3500 at $0.98, timing was pretty good. Thanks for flagging it.
