COLIN JAMES - Rhythmn & Blues

So, did anyone else take in the Colin James concert at the Jube last nite? He has reunited his Little Big Band, now the Little Big Band 3 (LBB3) and has a new disc out with the same name.

His Canadian tour with the LBB3 has been sold out - no wonder, the concert was awesome, so was the pianist who was the opening act.

As much as this tour and concert has sold out, and it does with some other Canadian acts as well, I just get the idea that too often Canadian talent is just never appreciated as it should be in Canada. Anyone else feel this way and think that perhaps the CRTC is the reason? Stations are forced to play a certain amount of Canadian talent and as such, perhaps some feel they are over exposed to the artists?

I've always been a big fan of Colin James right back to his first albums.

When I was with one of the bigger IT Infrastructure companies they flew him and the little big band into one of our corporate retreats to put on a concert for us on the last night, and even though it was only 500 people watching the concert he put on an amazing 2 hour set, high energy from end to end. Afterwards I sat with him and his manager and had a beer with him. He's an amazing guy, and very down to earth, and underrated on the guitar.

I didn't know he was playing here or I would have gone.
