We can argue about whether Ward’s systems or execution are to blame but either way, he has to be the goat. They either are doing what he says and it’s not working, or he is not able to get them to do it right. I’m not big on a coach having to motivate adult players, but there it is.

The only guy I see who gives effort game in and out is Tanev. I think that’s telling.

Maybe its time someone should name names!

100%. If the last week of Flames hockey isn't the impetus for a real shake-up then it's likely that ownership is just letting this season go into the ditch before making major changes in the summer.

In a normal 82 game season, and without the Peters fiasco in the background, you'd have to think that Ward would be canned. As it stands, we have an abbreviated season with no fans, a coach who is in over his head but is only 2 months into a 2-year deal (gross), and a team who looks like they have quit/forgotten how to play hockey. Add in the complication of a mandatory COVID quarantine for a newly hired coach and ownership may just let this train wreck play out. But man will it ever be hard to watch.

He's way more in touch with the fans, and he's not a blind apologist.

Wills on the other hand, is just putting words in the mouths of fans and is disregarding most of the performance metrics.
