Is it time to stop watching?

I think the only thing we can do as fans to "vote" for change is to stop watching. I personally stopped watching after the Canucks game on February 17th.

Unless or until they make a significant change, is this team worth your time? All they do is tear our hearts out. Destroyed by Ottawa? 6 to 1, is that a joke?

Something major needs to change before I waste my valuable time watching this atrocity again. I suggest you all do the same. This feels like it needs to be a social media campaign. If someone with a gaggle of followers was to do that, I would be forever grateful!

i mean, I was mostly just playing with my neice during that game.
Flames games under Ward are background noise. If we win, cool. If we lose... well it's expected.

It's time we make out voices heard. If that means tune out of a few games, or be as loud as we can online... but this team stopped playing for the fans this season.

I'll still watch... For the most part. Tuned out the 3rd period in both the Oilers and Sens blowouts.
If we keep this up, I will probably only be watching 40 minutes of hockey for a while. Changes are to be made.

Whether you watch or not is your choice. But it won't influence any decisions the hockey club makes.

Yeah exactly, the one thing we're not is Oilers fans who eat #### everyday and proud of it.

This Flames team is terrible and every Flames fan needs to say so. #### being nice.

Yup. For the first time in my 27 years of being a Flames fan I completely have no interest in the team. They are selling me on nothing. No future. No present. I see no direction.

I find how emotionally invested in I am in watching is a pretty good indicator of how exciting the hockey is. I don't mind watching losses if it's exciting hockey - the Hartley comeback kids had some of the most entertaining losing efforts I've ever seen and the thought of turning one of those games off early never even crossed my mind.
I'm currently on "second monitor, sound off, probably not paying much attention if we're behind" level of engagement. This is just brutally boring hockey. It takes a lot for me to choose to do something else when the game is on, but I'm not far off.

Unfortunately, no change in TV ratings is going to fundamentally change how the club is run.

If the ratings for Flames games absolutely plummeted and you were an owner of the Flames, what would you do? Merchandise sales dried up too? Would you just stay the course or would you make a change before your brand was destroyed?

I'll never stop watching in general but I definitely walk away or turn the games off when they're playing like #### AND are down 2+ goals cause its almost a given to be a letdown lately.

I haven't watched a game yet this season. I haven't quite kicked the hockey habit completely, as I still check the score and read stuff here. But I'm working on that.

I don't mind watching a loss if the team is giving all they have. That hasn't been the case this year. This brand of hockey is not worth watching.

I didn't watch last night or tonight.
Not because I think it makes any influence to what the club will do; but just because it's terrible entertainment and I have much better ways to spend my time, especially ways that don't spoil my mood.

If I have nothing else to do I'll keep watching, but this team is dropping down my prioritized list quickly.

I watched this last game against Ottawa on delay. Normally I tough it out, even if the team is down, but this time after the 2nd Ottawa goal, I just knew there was no way they were going to win. I shut it off after the second goal. The exact words out of my mouth were, "There's no way I'm watching the rest of this ####."
But more to the point, I knew there was no way I was going to enjoy watching the rest of that game. This team might be the most boring and listless team I have EVER seen play hockey. It's awful, just in terms of entertainment value.

I can watch boring hockey if it leads to wins. I can stomach losses if there's entertainment along the way.

I refuse to watch boring AND losing hockey.

Fix this #### Flames management. You are close to losing some long time fans.

My wife wants to watch and is the eternal optimist. For the past 6-7 games, I have sometimes been in the room but haven’t paid attention at all. Just wish there were more options.. go to the gym...play hockey... go to the movies.

For me, I'll still watch. I'm a different fan than I used to be though. A decade ago I would have been in a rage over this team and the way they play. No longer. Life is too short. Now, I'm happy to have the game on in the background while I surf the net on the couch.I'll watch the games, even when they are struggling. A few more wins would be nice though.
