Hey I love shutouts but do something to get some offense. The PP is making me crazy. They give up more chances to opponent's PK.

Why can't a coach be able to use a system that balances offense and defense? Why is it so tilted to defense??
I know a lot of coaches think you can teach defence but trying to teach offence is just not that effective.

Powerplay is different though. The Flames do have a good powerplay when they move the puck quickly. This happens every year, including this year - they move the puck fast, they score.

Nope.

Winnipeg scored to tie the game with their goalie pulled earlier, but that was the shootout win by Gaudreau. The Flames never had a chance to shoot on the empty net that game.

Vancouver scored to tie the game last week with their goalie pulled, but that was the OT win by Gaudreau. Likewise, the Flames didn't get a chance to try for the ENG.

They really did wait it out as long as they could for a Leaf to find a puck in that crowd.

I didn't like that.

Playing with this team in front of you has to be so deflating. You have to wonder how sustainable this situation is... any kind of slip from the goaltending quality will plunder this team quickly.

If management doesn't make a coaching change soon, it's basically an admission by them that they've given up on the season.

The puck was still alive and in play with Nylander getting to the puck before Rittich did, thus creating a small 5 hole for the puck to go in.

The 4v4 in the third showed how passive the team was. Asking the Leafs to attack first.

These goalies are such good guys too. You just want to see the team care enough to reward them.

I wonder if they would try putting Lindholm on the top line, Backlund with Tkachuk to try to create two scoring lines 5 on 5 instead of zero scoring lines 5 on 5. It is harder for the other coach to line match when you have a scoring line.
This is incredible! Is this the goal? 139 goals over 82 games??!! Anemic doesn't even begin. Do the coaches love this? What are they doing to improve this area? Keep checking?

Find the balance to play good offensively but find some offense it is just incredibly bad to have a 139 goal pace for 82 games but these guys will be happy with this game. Happy?!!??

20 games in Flames are exactly a .500 team.

Yeah, me too. There have been a bunch of quick whistles and they choose then? Not only is it bogus, someone could have been hurt.

No Loubo. No. No. No. You can't play this kind of game all year even in a shortened season.

One bad bounce and you're toast.

You have to knock guys over in the crease so they can't whack it, in stead they were puck watching and lost the game.

Now you've done it. Now someone's gonna come on in here and say they aren't a .500 team because of the extra point and all that jazz.

I think its time for Sutter but I dont think Treliving would do it. Would have to be someone(management) forcing Trees hand. At that point the writing is on the wall for him.

Definitely. It's late enough in the game that roughing guys in your crease up is completely worth it. Nothing to lose at that point if you can prevent an easy swat-in in a crowd.

Again, I'm just not sure where their heads are at in moments like that.

I noticed Hanifin got taken down way outside the crease and just couldn’t get back to take a man.

Good game and series for Dave. Was happy to see Mangiapane score as he has been the hardest working and most consistent forward for the Flames.

The lack of offence is the biggest surprise and disappointment so far this season. Just no creativity in the offensive zone, can’t make their passes, no sustained pressure. Vancouver, Edmonton, and now Toronto have just dominated the Flames.

Need to get the offence going and gain some momentum against Ottawa.

Of course he won't do it. The Flames are already paying two head coaches this season. There is no way in hell they are going to pay three.

Just went back and rewatched the missed empty netter. Such a weird play.

Tkachuk falls forward while making the pass, but doesn't seem to have been held, hooked, or tripped to cause it.

Still, the pass comes across fine but slightly behind and Lindholm tries to kick it to his stick instead and just fumbles it.

Disappointing as literally every other team seems to score ENGs from anywhere and everywhere on the ice the second they get a chance, especially on a clean 2 on 1 from centre...
