Did the flames accidentally include Wideman on their game day lineup to the refs?

Hanifin tripped for a chance against, Gio tripped for a chance against, and just now Tanev was hooked for that Mikheyev chance.
Not calling those is fine, but Leivo's tripping and Hanifin's hooking penalties were equivalent.

Rittich is looking great. He seems like such a great guy I really want him to succeed.

Terribly uneven officiating thus far.

That period was......something. Flames looked ok for the most part, PK was good, Rittich looks solid again. Tough to get anything going offensively when you kill 3 penalties in a period. Flames have to be extra careful tonight, they're not going to get any help from the zebras apparently.

I would think there will be continuous PPs until the Leafs score. Call it equally, refs. I hate this. Go Flames.

They got what - three shifts and had to sit for extended periods. Hard to get them going.

Good road period. Don't let calls distract (hard enough to win without making officials an opponent too).
Skate, get into their zone and make some things happen - might even draw your own PP.
Edwards - get the entry sorted out on PP.

Rittich with some solid saves to end the period. Maybe the Leafs complained to the officials but it sure looks like these officials are calling things really tight against the Flames. 10 powerplays in 4 periods is kind of ridiculous IMO.

I’m ok with the zebras calling a tight game, but it’s frustrating when it only goes one way.

Trash officiating as per usual in Toronto, great penalty killing.

I suppose all the panel will talk about is how the flames need to stop taking penalties. No one will have the guts to say the penalties were weak, soft and questionable

Glad to see Rittich is dialed in, because of all the Toronto powerplays.
Flames need to stay out of the box in the 2nd period, even if the refs are against them.

The Leafs will be called if they put a puck out or of they high stick. That’s it.

And one of those shifts they were stuck in their own zone because Kylington fell over.

Will most likely see several replays of Matthews taking the puck to the ankle, and sending praise to the Lord that he's okay.

Weak calls. Should have been 4 on 4 at least for what they missed on the Flames
