Maybe this will light a fire under Treliving to make a change if things go poorly for the Flames against the Sens.

I agree, this hire would be a no brainer, Flames now have a dance partner available.

I like to think that I don't wish ill on other human beings, but Kirk Muller being fired feels of what goes around comes around to me. I used to bartend at the Keg on 4th Ave in the Westin Hotel while I was in university. Kirk Muller was the most arrogant, rude, and demeaning individual that ever sat at my bar top.

To all the posters asking for Treliving to hire Julien- do you realize Ward is a protege of Julien? They have similar tendencies.

I wonder if they’ll ask Looch for his opinion today on hiring Julien. Lol

Jim Playfair was a protege of Darryl Sutter. Do you feel the same about those two?

I don't, but have you honestly been impressed by anything Julien has done behind the bench in the last 6-7 years?

If the Flames want to move on from Ward the off season makes a lot more sense for timing where more candidates are available. Julien would just be more of the same- except more expensive. I don't see it.

The Habs were 24th last year. Why do people think they should be much better than that? If they were in the normal division with BOS, TB, FLA and TOR, where do you think they would be?

A lot of people bought into the hype after the Anderson trade/Toffoli signing.

And to be honest the club is better than it was...but they are experiencing the effects of not addressing their biggest need yet again...center.

I like the make up of that club but they just dont have the horses down the middle and its catching up to them.

Again...that is on the GM not on the coach.

I wonder if this is Bergevins panic move as the seat gets warmer and warmer.

For quite a while Julien has been the example of how paying a lot for a coach doesn’t guarantee success. I think they’ve been ready to get rid of him for quite a while but then they’d have been paying him $5M to not coach for years. This was the last (and shortened) year of that contract.

People are just very frustrated, which is why some are putting no thought at all into the situation. A clear case in point ...

I never understood the hype of Montreal being rated so high coming into this season. Barely made the playoffs last year. I guess beating the Pens in the first round last season created a lot of unreasonable expectations. I think their record suits them just fine.

			Saw the Julien headline.
Came here for the demands to hire him in Calgary.

 Not disappointed. Or surprised.
