I love how much the Leaf fans enjoyed watching Tavares get rocked by Tkachuk

I've noticed that too. Every other fan base seems to think the Flames are a dirty team full of mean and nasty goons. I'm ok with that. Reminds me a bit of the 2003/04 days. Our overall team play doesn't seem to scare anyone, so at least it's something.

For the record, I was saying it as in it's dumb and just an observation.
I think you got that, but just to be clear.

Those chicken littles know nothing about hockey. Sorry but this Flames team is not missing the playoffs in this piss poor division.
If we play 60 mins in a game no team can beat us.
We can play as little as 20 minutes a game to beat scrub teams like the Canucks and Sens. lol

Kind of odd to see a fan base happy one of their star players gets rocked. He's maybe not having a great season but 17 points in 19 games would look good on a lot of teams.

Some of the sniping back and forth in here is getting tiresome. Win or lose, there are too many posters who want to come here and insult other posters without provocation. Doesn’t seem to matter which side of the Ward, Bennett or whatever argument you’re on, there’s a whole lot of rudeness.
I tip my hat to DM who came in here and just posted a positive comment about the game despite a handful of folks baiting him earlier in the thread.

I didn't get to watch a ton of the game, but I enjoyed the parts I did get to see. Well done Flames. Let's get some momentum going.

This place is getting pretty crazy lately. Some posters seem obsessed with the opinion of others here to the point were the hockey talk has degenerated into us against them posting. I see plenty of posts I don't agree with and I just keep clicking down so I don't understand why people get so fixated on who's glass half full or who's glass half empty. I'm happy with a win regardless if some posters are complaining about it and I don't understand why anyone would let that stuff get under their skin as you can't force people to share your opinion. Let people have their say and move on as tomorrow is a new day.

Game Takes: Flames 3 Leafs 0
- Rittich first Flame to post shut out in Toronto (Calgary Flame, Yves Belanger does it in 1977)
- Sean Monahan comes back with a goal and an assist.
- Matthew Tkachuk breaks out of his funk with goal 100.
- Flames PK goes 7/7 in a huge kill night.

Why are Leafs fans hating on Tavares? His production is a little behind schedule, but...

No surprise that when deployed appropriately, in a position where they have to defend as little as possible, they have decent games. Sheltering them works so keep it up!

Despite this I thought Keefe got Matthews out against them a few times and they held up pretty well.

1) I am not a fan of Ward at all but would be very happy to be proven wrong.
2) I thought Monahan had a great game specifically for how he played over the full 200’

Pretty happy with that game overall. Thought the refs were a bit "generous" with BSD on the quick whistles...dunno why, but they seemed snappy today. Lots of praise to go around the whole team, PK especially.
Didn't like the shorty chances given up, but that's fixable. BSD came up big.
This team likes those up-tempo games; not so much the clog-and-fill ones...but they need to learn to play their own game. Play a 60-minute game like they did tonight and they'll win far more often than lose - to anyone.

Nice to get a W. They definitely played better, but this win came at the hands of the PK and the goalie - not exactly a recipe for consistent success.
However, a win is a win, and hopefully they can build some confidence from it and continue to improve.
Another solid game from Tanev. And Gio was a beast.

My mistake, didn't see Francis and his hit piece from earlier. How very transparent...don't hear a peep from Francis until the last week, but not a coincidence he was ramping up his gossip so that when the Flames hit the media capital Toronto, he can stick his head up to start throwing grenades and get his name in lights and on the air with more of a spotlight.
He was on Snet Central tonight and my guess is he is booked on Toronto radio the next to add more context to his drive by on JG today, purporting himself to be the Flames insider and thus having his ego stroked by schlubs in Toronto in what he also hopes is a semi-audtion for a job out there in his mom's part of the country.
