This team is a complete disaster. Terribly managed and easily the worst coached team in the league. Well past time for major changes.

Obviously agree with you, but do you ride this garbage out for the rest of the season?
Does the ownership group say okay to having this excuse for a team continue unabated?

Blow it up, rebuild, and do not try and fast track it. Get that legit, star #1 center we've been missing for like 30 years and go from there.

Sell off this season/off-season, tank for Wright/Michkov the next 2 seasons (2022/23) and call 'er a day.
The low odds of winning the lottery are more than worth it compared to this quality we get to suffer through on a nightly basis.

This team is a hot mess. Not sure how you make any trades to start over. Who would actually want any of our players?
Fire the coach? Okay, but how the hell do you entice another coach to come on board the SS Titanic?

When is the trade deadline this year?
I can't see many trades happening before that but we could be major sellers at that point.

Show them the name of the current coach and list of previous coaches.
Hardly a murderer’s row of Scotty Bowmans
“Oh, a team whose current roster has never had a qualified coach needs one.”

I predict the Flames either miss the playoffs or get bounced first round, draft between15-22 and stay mediocre. Forever.

This seems accurate. Just enough for media to speculate that they turned the corner.

Wouldn't shock me. Take one of the Leafs games, beat the crap out of the Sens, everyone will think the team has turned a corner when really it's just the same crap save from good plays from Markstrom, Gaudreau and Mangiapane keeping the team afloat

Start to dismantle the team and get quality returns while you can before their values diminish even more.
Johnny is going to end up in the east
Gio is getting older
Backlund is getting older
Tkachuk will ask for a trade soon
See if a team will overpay for Monahan
Demote Lucic, convince him to retire, play him on D or whatever it takes to get rid of him
Retain salary on them all, take back bad contracts, do what it takes to mortgage the present and build for the future.
There will likely be a round of compliance buyouts soon. Get a guy like Skinner if he comes with major assets then buy him out.
Realistically, nothing will happen and the team will stay as is.

At this point, and it is easy for me to say because it is not my money, if they are not making the dance this year I would eat salary and see if you can get a better return
Does a 4.5 million dollar a year Gio for the playoffs and one more year get you a 1st and a top prospect? Do it if it does as you can make that move to a contender who may want to make a run this year and have Gio at that price available for the expansion draft. A team like Florida who has not won in a long time may be interested in him at that price for Tippett and a 1st or 2nd.
Does eating 1.5 million on Johnny get you an extra first rounder or an additional top end prospect do it. A team like Philly may throw in Farabee, Frost and a 1st at that price.
Not sure you would want to eat salary with Monahan as there is an extra year, but move him too. If you are going with Lindholm and Backlund down the middle, coupled with the likelihood that you are picking up probably a couple centers in the 18-23 age range there is no room for him.
It is one additional year of mediocrity but if you add two additional assets for eating 3 or 4 million of salary you may end up with 6-8 decent prospects in the 18-23 year old range that can compliment Dube, Mangiapane, Valimaki, Anderson, Pelletier, Hanifin, Tkachuk. If you team is any good in 2 years you can repackage some of the assets you acquired for the veteran or two you think you need to make a run.

Taking a while to get to 5000

If they were going to make a change (and I don't think they will until the off season) today would be a great day to do it. Coming on the heels of a blowout, Tre & Ward have a short trip back to Calgary from Edmonton and the rest of the team can embark on the road trip without that hanging over them
