So what is wrong with Monahan anyway? Lower body? How bad? Covid?

I don’t say this lightly, I’m not an expert, I’ve never done the job....but, Ward isn’t up to te task. Simple as. He is consistently being outcoached every night.
Brad went out and improved the team and Ward is unable to get them to perform. He doesn’t have a good grasp on his talent, his line juggling screams desperation and he can’t come up with good in game adjustments. He’s over his head.
Calgary needs a tier 1 coach. Ward is not that guy.

The 3rd pairing defence needs a veteran presense. Maybe it's time to insert Micheal Stone in the lineup to play with Valimaki.

Yeah the hardest thing about this season is having to play mini series against everyone. Game 1, maybe we win and if we do the other team has a coach smart enough to make the adjustments between games to play us more effectively.
Geoff Wards answer to making adjustments is literally picking names out of a hat when we’re down a goal hoping for chemistry on his new lines to instantly form in one shift.

Where was our overpaid ‘tough guy’? I think he threw one hit. Too busy texting nurse and Connor where they should meet for drinks on whyte ave after the game. It’s a ******* joke how soft Lucic plays the oilers, every time. I understand there is nobody in his weight class, especially with caveman out with a hangnail. Not asking for him to fight. But he is a professional- his job is to have the other team looking over their shoulder. Don’t want to hit Mcdingleberry or dry saddle? Fine. Big hits motivate your team. Flatten khaira. Destroy nurse. It’s a joke he can pull this nice guy act. Sit his *ss next game.

Been saying it for years, and saying it again now. Can we go after a natural goal scorer. Someone who can score with some consistency. 43 shots and 1 goal?? 40 of them shots hit Kosk straight in the Oilers crest.

There were at least 5 instances I counted where the McDavid line came out when Nesterov and Valimaki were on the ice and Ward had an opportunity to get them off the ice and just didn’t. The guy is getting his lunch handed to him night in and night out in the most basic of coaching functions. It’s honestly hard to fathom.

Good to be part of a cohort these days!
But if you think the only guy willing to fight in a BOA is part of the problem then you are wrong

Nesterov & rookie Valimaki struggled horribly tonight. Everytime they had to play defense tonight, they looked like they were going to get scored on and not just when McD and Drysaddle were on the ice.
An argument can be made that they were the worst of the worst in this one.

For all the bull#%^* the management of this team spun about tear it down rebuilds not working at the beginning of this era, look at Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews. Look at Nathan Mackinnon.
The Oilers have continued to be incompetently managed after getting McDavid, and they’re still better off than us.
Put a competent management team together that can actually put together a vision and build from the ground up?
I full on want this team torn down at this stage. It’s mediocre at best. This is what they spent 7 years building?
Pathetic. They can’t get a consistent effort out of the team. How do we expect to win anything?
Time to clean house.
