I’m old enough to remember Sutter lining up an all goon line who immediately dropped the gloves with their faceoff partners. He had to line up a D as a forward to do it.
He got fined of course.

4 dmen in the top 72 paid dmen in the NHL and this team is bad a defence.
I know he is having a bad night but Hanifin is the 60th highest paid dman in the league, hard to think he would be considered a top 2 dman in the league. In order for these great RFA contracts to actually be great at some point you need one of them to outperform their contract, you need a guy like Hanifin to play like the 30th best dman in the league, not the 87th best dman.

I'm going to watch the third for no other reason than to see if the Flames have any respect for themselves and get angry. If they can't show emotion after this then changes need to happen.

Hard to blame Ward for bad passing, stupid penalties, giveaways at the blue line, and leaving guys alone in prime scoring places. Or bad reffing to start the game.
Frankly, I thought the Flames were responding to being down 2-0 very well.
That they are a fragile team - who knows. People will say coaching but the players seem to lack determination under fire.

They came out angry.
They’ve worked hard and competed.
The game plan was bad, the coach is bad, the team is bad.
Who’s going to stand up and fight at this stage? Bennett? He already has. Lucic? Doesn’t really do it anymore. This team is softer than butter, and have no heart.

Im sure its both but lets start with Ward. Its a lot easier to eat 1 mill than move half the team. In due time though.
