Here’s a wild one. Sources say Mike Babcock will be announced head coach of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies next week.

Not that I would ever want Babcock as the Flames coach, but I think this would mean the University of Saskatchewan would have a better coach than the Flames.

This seems to me like a move to rehab his image. He won't be able to pull the crap he did in the big league in a university setting. Cue a national championship and the school/players raving about what a great guy he is.

I for one am looking forward to seeing how this brand new 'ooching' position works out for the University of Saskatchewan.
Maybe thats what the Flames need. We need an 'ooch.'

Never heard anything like this...how could he possibly do so?
I do know that before he took over....they were the absolute laughing stock of every singe CIS program.
IIRC they had never ever made the playoffs...and he won them a Canadian championship his first season.

I don't recall. They never had a winning season and he came on and they won in his only year. They've only had 5 winning years since.
I can't remember if it was just their women's program or all hockey was going to be suspended after the 2019/2020 season, but that's 25 years after Babcock was here.

He took over Lethbridge from Dave Adolf who constructed Lethbridge’s roster then went to coach the Huskies.
Adolf just retired from the Huskies, so it’s superstar Mike spotlight to redeem his image.
Good luck.
Commodore is just a front and a mouth piece for everyone who Babcock has manipulated or tortured in Mike Babcock’s egotistical quest to building Mike Babcock’s hockey career.
I doubt he can change from being a megalomaniac at this point in life.
