He just needs a confidence boosting game. If we can shut down McAvi and Raisaitl then that would be a massive boost of confidence for BSD! That's a tall order since one of those guys usually score.

I think that some people are overhyping the Oilers. This is still a crappy blueline, a bad goalie duo and a unsipring bottom 6. They've won a few games . . . cool. But there are major problems in that club that people are forgetting about.
the Flames are a struggling team, but I would still see the Oilers beating the Flames tonight as an upset.

I would expect brutal officiating again. The Oilers who always seem to get powerplays at times they need them. If they are down by a goal late in the 3rd period it's almost clockwork that they will get a powerplay.

If I am drinking heavily it is because the Flames are winning. I don’t want to add a hangover to a loss.

Rittich needs to make a couple of saves wary because I think the Flames will be strong out of the gate tonight but I also think they are fragile right now and Rittich has really felt like McBackup from the Kipper days

Between bringing him in cold game 6 vs Dallas and then not playing him much at all this year, the team seems determined to crush his confidence.
I hate to dump on the coaching again, but what a poor way to work your backup goalie into success.

He's a solid goalie, and he needs to start piling up some GP and W's. Tonight's as good as any. I imagine Ward is banking on his team coming out guns blazing tonight due to the nature of the public ridicule, which should put Rittich in a good spot to get that first W of the season.
