It wouldnt be costly, you fire him and you still have to pay him... you dont pay him extra
A new manager is going to be a few million a year, max 5-10 if it's a big name, that's not affecting the money that can be spent on transfers by any large amount.

well that was another turd. If you get one point out of games against Sheffield and West Brom, you frankly don't deserve to make top 4.

It’s locked up though? It would be a big collapse for you to miss it now. I mean yeah, it’s been a weird season, but seven points over 14 games is a significant advantage.

Hey the DGAF approach by Bielsa is why they can still make this comeback happen. Definitely the most fun team to watch.

I'm not so confident yet.
Give it a few weeks the way things are going and they could be back in the middle of a dogfight.
After Newcastle they're away to Chelsea and City. Can't see them getting anything from City and a loss to Chelsea and they're back in the thick of it.

Sobering thoughts, outside of football. I just caught up on reading Klopp's mother has passed, and this would certainly explain some of his recent behavior.
Some classy tweets, from across the league.

Hopefully the support provides him a bit of comfort. This pandemic sucks, so many people have had to deal with terrible situations like these, it’s just awful.

I saw a tweet that the Mourinho contract doesn't have a "break" clause and the compensation for termination would be significant. i would hazard a guess that it's probably 30-50 million pounds (minimum 2 years left at 15m per year)
That's not insignificant for a team like Tottenham.
In any event, i think top 4 is unlikely at this pace. If they don't make Top 6 plus League Cup win it could be possible that Jose is let go this summer.

That kind of clause seems very out of character for someone like Levy.
He either has a ton of faith in Mourinho or he had his back against a wall.

King Ornstein himself tweeted it so it's obviously true. Spurs might be richer than they were 10 years ago, but it's still hard for anyone to eat almost £40 million. It's basically Roman and Sheikh Mansour who can afford that without blinking. So we can all get the popcorn ready for year three, it's gonna take Spurs players basically tanking to get Jose sacked.

Probably a bit of both.
When originally hired, Levy said he is one of the best managers in the world, and in the top 2 in the Prem.
Also firing a manager mid-season doesn't give you a ton of room to maneuver in terms of plucking managers. I think Levy knows the window to win and keep Kane around long term is closing.

He's out of his mind.
A long-term contract with no 'out' clause to Jose Mourinho? You'd have to be high or insane.

Yes, so they would pay his whole contract
That was my point, you're paying that anyway

Ahh fair enough.
That's still a pretty significant sum to pay someone to not coach, while hopefully getting a better coach for less money.
I think the over under on Jose staying is Top 6 + to trophy.
Anything above = one more year
Anything below = gone this summer

I think that makes sense
I'd say europa league win would do it by itself too, which shockingly was of monday they were the favored team to win right now at the bookies, barely edging out united
