No, the first half is what this core can be.
Peters changed his coaching style (and player usage) significantly in the second half (going from a blender loving coach with a free wheeling style to a plodding safe coach with set lines) and in the playoffs our breakouts were focused in on after game one with no counter.
A core is only as good as their utilization. When they've been utilized by NHL caliber coaches (2014-15, 2015-16 sans goaltending, 2018-19 pre ASB) they've been a pretty good, exciting team.
When we get a coach who has won at least an AHL championship you can say it is the core.

Both.
The Flames played a transition game all year, then went conservative, chip it out, chip it in, for the playoffs. They completely bailed on what had been working for them.
This team can't play that way.
