Thing is, if you objectively examine their roster and coaching staff, you would expect them to be very good.
But they are passing the eye test big-time the few times I've watched them.

It’s technically Sportsnet Ontario I think? Not Sportsnet west. Or if that’s the same intermission as Sportsnet west the oilers are on it.

I’ve been onboard with trading Hanifin for a forward upgrade in the past but he looks like he’s taken a step this year and Gio is only trending down.
I think we need to keep him and not even consider trading him until we see more from Mackey et al.
Valimaki, Andersson, Hanifin and Mackey are solid foundation to build a young d-core.
You never know Kylington might finally put it all together as well but until we know what we have in Mackey, Kylington and the ones yet to come we need to hang onto him IMO.

It's not the coaches. It's individual preparation, which has nothing to do with coaching from what I've been told.

This team is asking a lot from us as fans. Same crap, different game. Been going on for a few years now, with rare exception. I spent most of that period reading twitter. I guess I could have been watching paint dry instead.
Terrible preparation, terrible start, terrible giveaways and generally terrible hockey. One really good shift by Looch, Doob and Backs. That was it.
Something really *does* need to change here.

His problem in my view is that he's not moving his feet. I really do wonder if he is hurt.

Possibly but they had the Canucks and Flames behind them when they were talking about it.
It’s just a complete lack of awareness for your audience. Probably the only two fan bases in the league that don’t care about McDavid.
