What more ######ed than Ward is that there are still people trying to justify Ward absolutely failure with putting coherent lineups together.
Bennett on the 4th line with scraps again is simply insulting to everybody at this point after how good he has been playing in the last few games.
To hell with the stats, Bennett passes my eye tests enough, way better than Simon.
Ward is clueless and can go #### himself.
I will keep saying this, this franchise is going nowhere until we hire an elite coach.

Not sure I like the idea of BSD facing the Greasers.

It’s great to have 8 guys that you like and wouldn’t mind seeing in the lineup.
Nice change from the Bartkowski et al days of the past.

Well I personally have noticed a lot of solid plays on the PK by him. I like him in the lineup more so than our other two new forward additions and in general I’ve liked Leivo.

Just a reminder, Bartkowski played ahead of Kulak for no discernable reason.
Guess which guy is still in the NHL.

Didn't they have Nesterov and Mackey available as a 7th D... unless there is second regular D-man that might have to come out of the lineup.

Technically both of them are in the NHL. Bartkowski played 13:02 last night. Kulak's last game was on Feb 13.

It’s says on cap friendly the Flames sent Mackey, Robinson and Froese to the taxi squad and Gawdin and Ritchie to the minors yesterday.
Today, as per the tweet, they recalled Kylington and Froese to main squad and Ritchie to the taxi squad.
Not sure what they are doing with Ritchie but they typically keep activating a 7th dman from the taxi squad before every game.

I am mostly concerned about Rittich getting into and staying in game shape. The workload isn't really an issue in a 56 game season. Under ordinary circumstances I would be thrilled to keep Markstrom's starts under 50. If he played every one of the remaining games he would end up playing 54. He won't. I am betting that Markstrom finishes the year with 45-48 starts, which is totally fine. Of course I would prefer that Rittich plays well enough to warrant more than ten games before the playoffs start.

To be fair I think this is more a case of Ward putting together balanced lines against the Canucks. There is always the option that Bennett, or other guys shuffled around a bit.

I just don't think that Bennett has been playing so well as to make him essential or untouchable. He has definitely been better the past two weeks, but the bar is pretty low.
At the did of the day Bennett's deployment and icetime are not the difference between winning and losing hockey games. It is a pretty minor issue that is not worth getting anywhere this upset.

Rittich needs some starts. Watched this team burn Miikka out year after year. It's just so hard not to play your super goalie.
Like Text said, hopefully Rittich plays well or steals a game next time he plays. Some confidence for both Rittich and the coaching staff would go a long way for this team.

Rittich practically owns Roger's Arena. He has been very good there v. the Oilers in the past.

Right, but in a 56-game schedule burn-out is not much of a concern.

Because Ward reminds me a lot of Gulutzan, and it's the same kind of vet favouritism over team success strategy that frustrates me about both.
