Herm Edwards sums it up nicely

He is saying this team has warts and he hopes that wins dont cloud managements judgement on what needs improvement. Seems like a fair assessment ?

You guys are missing the point. I did enjoy the win last night. My original post was defending the guy that stated his opinion, which I agreed with. The rest of my posts have been defending my opinion.

I always enjoy beating our rivals. I'd just enjoy it more if we were a threat to do some overall damage. Comprende?

If there was ever a year to just get in this is it...who the hell are you scared of in the first two rounds?

Save the worrying for the offseason

What makes this team different is the goalie. He gives this team an opportunity every game he plays. Same as 04. Every teams has some flaws, but the flames play well enough defensively that they will be a handful in the playoffs. Sports is always about hope, that is why even some Sens fans thought they could be a playoff team this year.

I think the Canadian division has has made the highs higher and the lows lower, as every game is against a team you have some ill will for.

It’s also the year to make a serious addition to the forward group, the sooner the better.

Im worried about them beating themselves, not so much the other team personally. I didnt watch this last game so maybe Ward woke up. I'll keep my Ward hating in check for a few games though.

I want to see us building towards something. And that something isn't another early playoff exit.
Which is valid.
But the other night you dropped in to the game thread to make sure we all knew that you weren't watching and we were fools for doing so

No need for that. Here are your posts from that night:

Or trolling. You decide.
If you don't want to watch - cool. No need to announce it to everyone and try to reduce their enjoyment.

It is is probably right that the Flames will jostle in the middle of the Division for the whole season, but let's not get carried away: Edmonton is no good, and the Canucks might be one of the four or five worst teams in the entire League. The Flames are actually MUCH better than them.

I think many of us were expecting this group to be in the upper echelon of the division, right up there with the leafs and the Habs. They are not.

We should just enjoy the ride, and as usual, watch a team that will be fighting tooth and nail for a bottom seeding playoff spot.
It is still really early to be drawing conclusions like that, and there are a few factors playing in to why the Flames are positioned where they are, and not higher. The current standings are not reflective of reality in large part because of how out-of-balance the schedule is. Consider the following...

· Calgary has played only played 15 games: Ottawa and Edmonton have already played 17, and Vancouver has played 19.
· Calgary has played 6 games on home ice. Winnipeg has played 10; Vancouver, Toronto, and Edmonton have all played 9; Ottawa and Montreal have played 7.
· Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal have all feasted on teams in the bottom-half of the Division, while Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa have played 2/3 of their games against the top-three teams.

Y'all seem to have glossed over my earlier post, but if you don't like people ####ting on the team even after a win, don't interact with those posts. Not in an "ignore poster" way, just in the nod and move along type of way. They will likely just sit there among the other posts and get drowned out. Instead, the board has an obsession with highlighting things it hates. And so we get a PGT that is 18 pages long, 10 of which are essentially just a "no, u" argument between two groups that will literally never agree because they don't have any interest in creating common ground.

I think for me a lot of this season is really about destroying our rivals in the season series.

Vancouver: 4-1-0
Edmonton: 1-0-0

I'm pretty happy with that.

I suppose Winnipeg could be considered a rival, but it's not on the same level at this stage for me.

With that said, the best part of the season so far for me has been watching Gaudreau, Markstrom, Andersson, Valimaki, the Hanifin/Tanev pair, and Mangiapane. I really dislike the coach and I think his style makes for ugly, uninteresting hockey on most nights - but Markstrom has been a consistent "must watch" part of the Flames this season. So awesome to have goalie of that quality. Johnny's back to being a threat, Mangiapane is taking steps every night, and Valimaki and Andersson are the future of this team's back-end (alongside Hanifin) - I find it fun to watch their developmental progress in real-time.

Meh, I'd rather they go thru the adversity and ups/downs now and hopefully have it figured out down the stretch

Well, that is just patently false. The Flames have a two-point lead on the Canucks with four games in hand, and have 8/10 points in their season series.

It’s trolling behaviour. And your displeasure at what? Other people watching, according to you.

Trolling and having a different opinion are two different things.
