That's not hard. The book sucks. Never understood why it was so popular.
There are some people who get British Humour and then there are those that dont.
If you love things like Fawlty Towers, Monty Python then you'll love the Hitchhiker's Guide....if you don't then you should go and invest in some Vogon Poetry compilations...those might be more your speed.

Wife wanted to watch WW84. I couldn't make it past the mall scene before opting out, what a dumpster fire. Out of morbid curiosity I looked up the rest of the plot on wikipedia, and I'm really glad I didn't try to stick through it. The story sounds like something from a Disney channel tween movie

The whole time I was reading it it just felt like a Sirens of Titan by Vonnegut knockoff. The tone and style really reminded me of that book but the writing wasn't as good as Vonnegut.

hmmm, I may have to revisit. I thought it was cheesy like Pearl Harbor.
Much better than Pearl Harbor! About the only thing I like in Pearl Harbor is when Ben Afflek had a broken nose and and popped a bottle of champagne and the cork cranked him on the nose.
