Looch has 3rd most goals and 7th most points on the team. No wonder he's not dropping the gloves anymore.

I'm with you, man. Totally agree. He's overpaid but I'm still glad we have him.

Having Lindholm, Monahan, Backlund, and Bennett as the 4 centres could be huge in the playoffs, they just need to find a mix that works on RW.

Tkachuk - Lindholm - ???
Gaudreau - Monahan - ???
Mangiapane - Backlund - ???
Lucic - Bennett - Dube

Up to the coaching staff and GM to find pieces that work to fill those three spots. Whether it’s among Ryan, Leivo, Simon, Gawdin, Phillips, Robinson, etc or by making a trade.
I agree and would try:

Tkachuk - Lindholm - Phillips
Gaudreau - Monahan - Ryan
Mangiapane - Backlund - Gawdin
Lucic - Bennett - Dube

Nordstrom needs to go. Put Robinson in for the physical games. Use Leivo and Simon as fillers.

Nordstrom at least provides a useful role. Literally one of the top PK guys in the entire NHL by some metrics. Why people want him out makes no sense. Yeah it would be nice if he could find some offense but he is no different than any of the 4th line fillers in that regard.

The other two? Nothing. Leivo has been a huge disappointment.

Simon played 13 minutes last night....and im not kidding when i say i dont remember him touching the puck more than twice. I was floored when i saw his ice time. A whole lot of nothing from him.

Lucic started out the season slow but has quickly rounded into form recently. Contracts aside, there is no comparison as to who brings more to their respective team when comparing both players. Especially from the Flames' perspective.

Heck Lucic's "shift" last game had more determination and effort than any game Neal ever had here. Not even joking when I say that; that single shift alone was better than any game Neal ever had here.

Very happy with the big man's play recently.

After a rough start he's played well for the most part but this IMO is not a great stat as it means that the Flames aren't getting enough scoring from their top 6. Maybe it's a product of Gaudreau shooting more but Monahan needs to get going in the goals department as I can't remember a season when his stats were so slanted towards assists.

He’s just snake bit and The biggest issue is his shooting percentage. He still has 35 Shots on Goal which is the same amount as Gaudreau.

But he’s shooting 5.71% which is way off his career average of 15%.

If he’s shooting around his career average he’d have 5-6 goals and this wouldn’t even be a discussion.

We’d probably be talking about how he has 5 goals and 10 assists, was over a PPG, and is producing more this year.

Mohanan is getting a few grade A chances a game, but is missing that great finish he has shown in past years.

Tkachuk has also struggled outside the PP all year.

IMO he's actually not been great on the powerplay of late. He's had stretches in the past where he goes quiet but he's looked pretty bad on a nightly basis. It's like the switch flipped after the Muzzin incident.

A lot of short-sighted fans that are criticizing this post. He’s right.

Sure, wins are more fun than losses, but you know what else would be fun? Winning a Stanley cup, or even just being in contention. At this point, wins just delay the inevitable. This core has proven time after time they don’t have what it takes.

Last night’s performance wasn’t even inspiring after getting slaughtered Saturday night. In fact they came out completely flat again. What about this team inspires confidence in those of you that are supportive game after game? What do you think a team like Vegas would do to us in a 7-game series? Colorado? Toronto?

We’re not even close. Mattman is completely correct.

I think many of us realize that this is another version of the same Flames team we see year after year spinning its wheels under Treliving but I can't imagine cheering against them. Little doubt the Knights or Avs would crush the Flames in a 7 game series but that still doesn't mean I would take any less enjoyment from watching the Flames win games especially over rival teams. For better or worse this is a team that's going to be in the running for the last playoff spot in the division and given how terrible the division is they may even be able to win their first round matchup. To me that doesn't make for a successful season but it's still a lot better than being the Canucks or Senators.

“Completely correct” in what? What was “correct” about the statement. That it’s false hope? Okay? So, then what?

TBF his assists may be less in that situation. Assuming that a few of those hypothetical goals came on the same powerplay or the even strength play that he assisted on in reality. But I’m with you - he’s getting chances, unlike Tkachuk, who is either a step away from a great chance or in way too tight and just hammering at goalies’ pads.

Like I said after the last win, I am having trouble even remembering the last time I heard that term besides the ATL. I am assuming the same Coiler fan said it last time too. Funny.

That skate coming down pretty hard in and around Gio's head. Coulda been a big yikes.

Also, that young lady is just trying to present the news to the best of her ability. Do we really need to criticize the size of her bum?
