And the biggest thing too is it’s not like Monahan’s assists have just been lucky, they have been genuinely nice set ups.

It’s like they did some power swap thing and it’s really weird to see.

There was lots to not like. The system is still bad, and several of our "best" players are actively hurting this team right now. Tkachuk has been abysmal all year. Monahan's face should be on a milk carton because he's been totally MIA. Still glad the team was able to get the W.

Lindholm is a beast. Markstrom is far and away the team MVP so far. Bennett looks so much better with Dube & Looch, and I thought Mackey actually looked pretty good despite the penalties. I think this year we're just going to have to take the good with the bad, but I'll take the victories how ever they come!

Gaudreau, Lindholm, and the Bennett line were all good tonight. Would like to see more from Monahan and Tkachuk.

Still need to ratchet up the energy level and play better in our own end.

A Vancouver regulation win on Wednesday gives them the series, can’t let that happen.
It's okay (about going to OT), the Canucks are still done.

How awesome was that defensive gap, interception, and perfect saucer pass by Razzy on Lindy's goal though?

Bravo.

I felt like that Bennett shift at the end of the first period that ended with Lucic's goal was the turning point of the game.

If you expect a 5-0 win every game you should probably just do something else with your time. Sens have beaten TO 2 times now...the difference between NHL teams isn't much.

I will eat crow. The team adjusted. They started using the boards through the neutral zone to get around the Canucks. Bank passes or puting the puck into an open area ahead of a charging Flames player. It was effective.

And since I can't go automatically being all positive. Siting back and not forechecking on their pp was embarrassing and invited the Canucks to get back into h game.

All in all it's pretty hard to complain when you win in OT after going down 2-0.

I have a funny feeling that it doesn't matter what Ward does for the rest of the season some posters will blame him for everything. It is what it is. He's probably not going anywhere, so you might as well enjoy it as much as you can. They won tonight. That's what NHL coaches do!

Johnny was noticeably good, creating opportunities all over the ice.

I like eatbread and his motor. Gunna be a gem.

Also thought Hughes looked good on Vancouver. Only guy keeping up with Gaudreau tonight, and if not for him I think Johnny would have broken through sooner.

Ice looked bad, that 3on1 where Bennett lost the puck....

I didn't realize at the time, but Monahan's assist on the winner was a sneaky no-looker:

It’s crazy.

Once the team got down 2-0 it looks like the dmen were given the green light to pinch more and activate and they looked great.

Once we got the lead again then back to playing super passive from the back end in the third.

Don’t know why it takes getting a deficit to allow our dmen to jump up, tell them to play like that from the first minute.

Some clown in the GT was saying how they wished we had a great coach and team like Vancouver.

meanwhile Flames 4-1 against them with more points and FOUR games in hand in a 56 game season

oh and no Sens games

Sean Monahan's no look pass frozen Demko and was a major contributor to the game winning goal. He was fine tonight in my opinion. Simon is not a first line winger, that is the biggest problem with that line right now. They looked great with Bennett but with Backlund out that is not an option.

The Flames were the better team tonight and deserved the two points.
