Markstrom, please.

Don't want, what I expect to be a far better game and a rebuild of confidence for the skaters, to be torpedoed by Rittich spending another game "finding his legs" (which he has been on a search for an entire calendar year, really).

The team has been jekyll and hyde from period to period this season and consistently mediocre overall. There's still two games left in this mini-series and winning these last two would go a long way to distancing the Canucks for good. This team has never really had that killer instinct though and I'm not sure that's going to change especially the way they are being coached right now.

Will be interesting to see what the lineup looks like.

For those that are clamouring to have Phillips inserted, this is a good spot for him. Move Bennett down to the 3rd line centre, and Phillips alongside Monahan and Gaudreau. Gives the kid some talent off the hop.

My guess is that Froese moves up to the 3rd line centre spot, and then Gawdin comes in on the 4th. Then we will probably see those two flip-flop during the game, perhaps a few times. Gawdin did get moved to the Taxi Squad, so he is likely to be the one coming in.

Either the team will come out and crush the Canucks OR they will revert to their play one period and win plan OR they will look confused and out of sync and lose.

Go Flames.

Put in just 10 mins of effort and we got this! Is that really too much to ask?

I don't care what they do, as long as they leave that sweet, sweet fourth line intact. That glorious thing ought to be a staple for years going forward. Sign then all to 6x6s!

I wonder when Markstrom snaps from carrying this team on his back.

Just like back in the Kipper days. When he would defeat the black rubber disc ala Mike Richard's fake Kipper interviews.

Time to take this Oh were such a tight family locker room bullshirt and start playing serious games.

No passengers .
Just win dammit.

They showed more emotion after the game Saturday than they did for the game itself. Be nice if they actually were proactive rather than reactive tonight, but as usual I have no idea what Flames team will show up. Hopefully it's the one that played the Jets days ago, and not the one from the last two Canucks games.

I'm not even looking forward to watching. This team doesn't work hard on the ice with enough consistency but it sure is working hard to lose fans with its lackadaisical efforts.

But come 8:00pm I'll be sitting in front of the TV hoping for something different, like a fool.

Its time to get Ritter some games. No excuses. The team has to play as a team something they have did only for periods this year.

There was a great in game example of this on Saturday. Lindholm got an elbow to the mush from Edler, leaves for a bit, comes back and takes a healthy run at Edler on the forecheck. Resulted in our biggest hit of the game, a turnover and a quality chance.

Imagine if we just brought that intensity to more shifts, and it didn’t taken a dirty play to rile us up into playing with fire.

Lindholm had to go back in and do it himself, because no one was going to do it for him.

Any news on Backlund? Hopefully he is healthy enough to play.

Hopefully they don't sit back and get steam rolled again. First time Markstrom bailed them out so they didn't learn. Maybe after a loss they'll figure it out for at least one game before reverting back to being embarrassing.

GFG...
I like to read this post as if Markstrom is casually making saves while they're announcing the injury report in the pre-game show.

"Backlund is injured. Save for Markstrom. Connor Mackey will be a healthy scratch. Another save for Markstrom!"
