One thing I do know is that Backlund better not be out long.

I feel terrible for Markstrom signing long term if we have to start blowing things up with trades.

This team has a pretty established history that tells us they won't do that.

That's the best set-up for getting the tying goal?
What's amazing is if he jotted down those names and then didn't put them out he would have made a great call. It's bizarre how consistently wrong he is.

It's the first period. Yes VAN blocked some shots in the first and yes they were desperate but it was over passing trying to go through the VAN structure.

It's very easy to say from the peanut gallery but you have to get pucks directed at the net and try to get something greasy. Get the puck into Demko's feet and go after the rebounds.

I actually thought the played pretty good in the first until they got into the offensive zone and they just produced nothing. Shot clock was bizzare but CGY got nothing sustained in the first because they did not get to work, they just tried to pass it into the net.

I don’t imagine a rebuild is an option here. Owners refused to do one last go round, I don’t imagine they’ll ever approve one.

Honest q, why are you even giving him credit for being good with the X’s and O’s?

He was badly outcoached in the Dallas series last year when it mattered most.

We are over ten games into the season and his inexperience, boring system and poor decisions are patently on display. Its not like the team has a winning record to show for things.

The truth, the undeniable truth, is that but for Markstrom this season would be a total write-off by now.

I'm saying he's a terrific assistant coach but a bad head coach

Not wards fault more like the gms. Management is just as bad as the oil over the last 3 decades. If I were a superstar like Johnny I would not stick around and end up like Jarome. If I want a cup I need to move away.

So I just did a quick check. Flames have had 16 periods with less 7 shots or less on net already this year.

That is a major problem. I'm not going to even try to place blame here (gm, coach, players) but there's something flat out wrong with this team. We're approaching 25% of the season being done, but this feels like a core/fundamental problem.

You can predict the following:
- Johnny Makarov will blame Gio, in a downright personal way too
- Kennan87 and Bubbsy will blame Tree
- Lanny will blame Sam
- A whole bunch of people will blame the coach
- Jiri (and maybe Timbit) will blame Johnny (except Jiri didn't watch much tonight so he can't)
- That-guy-who-hates-Sean-Monahan-but-I-can't-recall-the-name-of will blame Sean Monahan

None of us are immune to it, but when you look at PGTs through that lens, they are kinda funny. Just everyone saying the same things they always say.
So the forum is a lot like the squad, very predictable. Monahan is special kind of bad though.

You are welcome. Congrats on your graduation from dealing with losses 101

Why a terrific assistant? Sorry not meaning to be difficult.

Was he a PP or PK specialist? Great at running practices? A good liaison between the players and the head coach?

Honestly I don’t know why Tre didn’t even bother with interviews of other candidates, and just gave Ward the job. Reward for years of being a good soldier? Is that the bar?
