I haven't studied plate tectonics since university and back then I was mostly interested in the deep seated mantle plumes and their interaction and impact on upper mantle circulation and tectonics. That being said, it makes sense that deep slip would trigger something to cause this quake. The Juan de Fuca plate is being subducted under the North American plate as the continent moves westward.

This got me to digging up some old papers that I haven't looked at in almost 15 years. I mixed up some boundaries in my previous comment. I mistakenly referred to the Moho instead of the 670 discontinuity.

Volcanically-caused long period earthquakes are produced by vibrations generated by the movement of magma or other fluids within the volcano. Pressure within the system increases and the surrounding rock fails, creating small earthquakes.

That being said, upon further research, that seems less likely to be what happened here. Most volcanic activity in that range seems to be in B.C. and Washington.
Carry on.

I called it the great jostling of 2021 to some of my Banff buddies yesterday, that was met with some laughs.
"I'm. So. Jostled!"
