Chris Cuthbert was just on SN650 and mentioned that he hates retro jerseys.

Very disappointing. I was hoping to get my hands on one later this year.

Yeah I don't remember this being part of the marketing. I almost surely would have bought one if I knew it was a limited run.
Seems like marketing it as a limited item would have netted them quite a bit more upfront sales.

They didn't advertise it much for whatever reason, but Popowich flat out said they were a limited edition in his interview with TheScorpion.
"In fact, you won’t even be able to buy them anymore. That’s it, and Blasty no more. […] To be frank, the plan was probably going to be some sort of limited run, and then it’s supposed to go away and then we’re gonna do another program, with whatever the criteria is for that."
I think it's all but a guarantee the Flames will push Blasty into a full-time 3rd jersey next year though.

I was at Southcenter this past weekend and went in to the Flames store and inquire about the Blasty jerseys. They have a couple of the larger sizes left (52, 54, and bigger). The guy flat out said that Adidas just makes 1 production run of the reverse retros for all teams. When they sell out of a certain size, they sell out. But I don't think it is a limited time thing, not that they will pull them off the shelf on July 1 or something.

Yeah but you think it would be splattered all over the marketing to drive interest. It certainly would have made me think twice.

Yeah but even if it is just limited quantity from the get-go, don't they think pictures of people literally lining up for this stuff would have been a good thing for the NHL overall? Just strange.

Keep in mind that most team's jerseys aren't sold out. I checked on shop.nhl.com (which is obviously only one place that they're available) and there were (men's Adidas "authentic") Reverse Retro jerseys available for the majority of the teams.
I think it was only about 1/3 of the teams that were sold out and Calgary and Montreal were the only Canadian teams without Reverse Retros available.
If they made an equal number of jerseys for every team, it makes sense that some are going to sell out faster than others.
If they did different numbers for each team, they may have underestimated the popularity of the horse heads because they weren't particularly popular 20 years ago, and most fans were glad to see them gone the first time.

Didn't realize Blasty already went to the glue factory. Agree they probably underestimated the demand for certain markets.

Looks like ProHockeyLife as the "Fanatics" version for $149 in stock. But I think it's the plasticy crest, etc.

That's another head scratcher for the NHL. If they want to make a cheaper, more "affordable" version to get more people buying merchandise, great. But why make them and price them at just a 25% discount? This price is like in No Man's Land. People who are buying the authentic version won't consider them, and people who are budget conscious and don't mind having a lesser product won't consider them either because they are not cheap enough.
If this "fanatics" version is priced at 50% (or lower) than the authentic version, there will be more people buying them.

all right - with the likelihood of me finding an authentic one pretty low, i've got a question for anyone who has purchased a fanatic blasty... how are the logos attached? are the logos printed on material and then stitched on (you can 'pinch' the jersey material on the inside of the jersey and it pulls away from the crest) - or are the logos pressed right onto the jersey?
if the logos are stitched on, i'm thinking worse case i could grab a fanatics version, remove the logos and put properly stitched logos on.
in the mean time, since adidas doesn't want to take my money, i went to my 'blank jersey' bin, grabbed a home red and blasty-ed it... becuz.... well... i can - so why not!! ha!
still not sure what name i'm going to put on it.... thinking chucky, markstrom, dube (kelowna connection from his time with the rockets) or andersson

It looks like a Walmart knock-off special unfortunately IMO. To each their own though.

ha! ha! yea - it does a bit! i'm not too worried. the patches are just stitched on (not pressed) so i can always remove them and "C" it up in the future

I think it's just due to the horse head having to be so much smaller, to accommodate the very thick cumberbund the Flames retro features. I'm not a fan of ol' horse snot in general the way many are, but admit it looks decent in person when I saw it at the Flames team store. The stitching (and jersey material) in general is so much more crisp than it used to be back in the day, really makes logos and numbers pop well.
I like the white C's you did on the shoulders. If you had more room on the front (aka could somehow use a retro looking Flames jersey without a fat cumberland, if such a thing existed) so you could use the full size "Blasty", it could be pretty decent.

There are no more on-ice Authentic Blasty jerseys available. Adidas went limited with production of them. If they are popular enough it is possible that Blasty may become the official alternate next season.

I found some on the CGY fan store website for authentic with a custom name plate. Are these the same or similar?
