Watching how Markstrom goes about his game, I can't see any reason he won't be as good in year 6 of his deal as he is now. Just a fantastic signing.
As much as this was a dog of a game all around, I still find myself wondering what's up with our highest paid player. I feel like he's spending way too much focus on head games, and his actual on-ice performance is pretty sub-par all around. He's making Johnny look severely underpaid.

That was Gio’s best game of the year.
Tchucky needs to cut out the fancy moves that don’t go anywhere.

It’s the kind of game that in year’s past spelled doom for us. Playing a team that had lost X straight games and is usually a situation where you will get their best until you either break their will - or - they score during the onslaught and manage to break their funk. Always felt like we lost these games.
But we have Jacob Anders Markström now.

Not a pretty win by any stretch, but that 3rd period kinda made up for the crappy first half.
Markstrom was outstanding again.
Gaudreau continues to be awesome.
Take the 2 points and be better for the next one.

How many games have the Flames taken an early penalty? That may be a factor in a lot of these slow starts.
