Now let’s see how fragile the Canucks are.

Hockey day in Canada, for one day it’s ok to broadcast, I guess. Love the diversity segment they are showing. However, thankfully we don’t have to endure Hometown Hockey this year!

That's the value of a great goalie. You aren't going to be great every period of every game, but if your goalie can keep you in it during bad periods, it gives you a chance to take over next period.

Also crushing for the Nucks. Frustrating season sees another frustrating start where they played well but came out of the period down one.

I don’t think Benning actually realized how many points Vancouver is going to lose in the standings letting their MVP Vezina candidate go to a rival.

In fairness, you knew the Nucks were going to come out like a screaming hell, since their season is hanging by a thread. Good to be up 1-0 after that kind of period!

Johnny needs to step it up - the entire team needs more jump but hopefully Gaudreau can play with more zip going forward.

Do we always take a penalty in the first few minutes of a game, tilting the ice toward us, or is it just me?

We really are watching Gulutzan hockey 2.0. which I guess makes sense as Trelieving hired both coaches.

Is this slow, predictable 5 man unit breakout actually successful anywhere?

Heh - that kid from Nigeria reminds me of a Nigerian kid on my kid’s team. Had masking tape on his stick to start. Couldn’t stop and he was huge, so he took a lot of penalties for head contact from using other kids to stop.

Getting up very early tomorrow. The wife and I are getting the moderna vaccine shot.

Want to stay up til the game is finished but need a more entertaining 2nd period.

Cmon Flames, you’re better than that.

It doesn’t always happen but when it does it often results in a period like we just saw, and it’s not just the first, it’s any period really. Been happening all season

If the team takes an early penalty in a period then there is a good chance it will be a long period.

The lines get out of wack, outside of Lindholm it keeps out best forwards off the ice (although Mangiapane on the PK looked good), and it gets the team on their heels.

Do you honestly think Ward is coaching “skate slow, miss passes and skate into coverage so you have to dump”?

If anything their problem was that the forwards were not skating out with the D - they were not in good pass receipt positions and the D were required to chip out.

Plenty of time to sleep when you're dead. Suck it up and get your game face on.

what is going on? Are they talking about someone's local radio station going under on a national broadcast?
