Gotta get this going...

Calgary needs 3-4 which would almost put the Canucks away.

Exactly. I think if the Canucks lose this 4 game series, their season is pretty much done.

We are so lucky to be in this division.

Play 60 mins and it's pretty much a guaranteed win against the Habs and Jets.
Play 30 mins and it's a win against the Oilers.
Play 20 mins of hockey and it's a win against the Canucks and Sens.

The only problem is the Leafs and if we play a 60 minute game it's 50/50.

Rest up and bring on the playoffs!

As bad as the Canucks have been they played much better against the Leafs in their last game and I find teams tend to play better against their traditional rival teams as Ottawa played Montreal close last week after getting crushed by the Oilers and Canucks. It will be difficult for either of these teams to do better than split this series.

The Canucks are already done.

Assuming you need 65 points to make the playoffs, the Nucks need to play .663 hockey for the next 40 games (half a season). Last year, 1 team (BOS) played at a higher pace than that. TBL was .657

The Nucks cannot play .663 for 40 games.

Other than the 3 games against OTT, they are 3-10-0 this year, which is a .231 pace.

If we give them 6 more Ws against OTT, they would still need to go 20-13-1 against the rest of the division.

It's already over for them.

I want Calgary to bury them. Win 4 straight or at least go 3-0-1 or something. Get that killer instinct for the team.

I think the Canucks give their best tonight. They are reeling and will want a win against their ex-players after 2 games where they showed up for 1 of 6 periods.

I hope Markstrom continues to play extremely well against the franchise that felt they could let him walk. If the Flames continue to build their confidence they should be able to walk away with 2pts tonight.

@DarrenWHaynes

Even-strength goals against:

Quinn Hughes
- after 16 gm last year | 13
- after 16 gm this year | 26 (increase of 13)

Noah Hanifin
- after 12 games last year | 13
- after 12 games this year | 4 (decrease of 9)

It's oversimplifying it, but the Chris Tanev effect in a nutshell.

Tanev + Markstrom.
