He had a huge mistake leading to a goal. I might say Tanev. But really, the whole team had it going. No passengers at all.
Yeah, that was a pretty bad jump instead of sliding back into position. He made a lot nice small plays that got the team out of trouble or created chances. Shot for a tip goal again. Noticed him for good reasons so many times. He's adjusting very nicely.
The Flames allowed 1(!!!!!!) 5v5 high danger chance all game and created 12(!!!!!!) for themselves. They also outchanced Winnipeg 24-10 overall at 5v5 and had an xGF% of... wait for it... 73.91%(!!!!!!!!)
Again, just a SPECTACULAR game.
From Oilers board LOL
Quote:
High Danger chances
WPG - 10
CGY - 1
Cgy is just good at mucking it up. They are balanced that way. Just nobody really stands out or takes over games. The Vancouver strategy. Markstrom makes big saves.

Oh, I like his guts at trying to make plays.

Really enjoyed that game. Well played and without the stupid made-up drama and McDavid hype when we play the Oilers. Glad we won in regulation but would have been fine with both teams getting a point.
I actually like our 4th line
Froese > Ryan for bringing in some physicality and being able to win board battles
Nordstrom and leivo
They played well together tonight. Keep it up!

Backlund line was excellent, he seems to finding his game again. Typically solid game but quiet game from Tkachuk-Lindholm-Dube. Fourth line was good. I like what Bennett brought to the Gaudreau-Monahan pair. He pushed the pace and I really noticed the other two moving around more. Having Bennett drive the middle as hard as he does opens up so much room behind him for their east-west passing game.
That was solid.

As an aside, I was prepping highlights from Sunday's game and tried to fix the SNET scoreclock for when the Flames wear the blasty jerseys since they default to the white C on red background which looks weird to me.
I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that cares about this stuff but oh well.
Jets fans going nuts saying the refs won us the game. Lollll.
I’ll be the first to call out refs for bad calls on our opponents but that high stick was about as blatant as they get. Call out your players for being careless before you call out the refs.
